John DiMaggio, the voice talent behind Marcus Fenix, chatted with
IGN about a little upcoming game called
Gears of War 2 and during the interview, let slip a few interesting game details. DiMaggio confirmed that not only will
GoW2 feature new weapons and brand new characters (as expected with any sequel), but also confirmed that there will in fact be a Brumak battle. The same Brumak style encounter that was pulled from the 360 version of
Gears but was later added to
Gears PC. And we say, thank you Epic! Finally Xbox 360 owners get to experience some hot Fenix versus Brumak action. Now just make sure it isn't a disappointment.

Thank you Epic for redeeming yourselves in my eyes. :D Bravo!

Wait, I thought the brumak encounter was supposed to happen between acts in Gears PC....
Are they gonna flashback in the sequel or something? Is this an entirely new Brumak?
I'm so lost. @.@

I'm always amazed that this guy is also Bender.
And this is awesome. What they really need is a massive battle with something even bigger.

Eric... Who ever said that there could only be one Brumak?
DiMaggio is the man.

If the fight the same as the PC ver then its already a disappointment. =(

I bet it is the same battle as the PC, but perhaps in a different location, see Brumak, shoot-it, achievement unlocked "A battle best served after being pulled from the original"
SadisticHam @ Feb 29th 2008 1:58PM
Don't want to be Mr Negative but great we get something we should of got in the original GEOW, thanks epic.

Oh no someone turn the Mark Rien signal so he can come out of his cave and say this isn't confirmed yet, he can also make a offhand remark about how cool the PS3 is.

Epic's decision to not release the extra content they put into the PC version is exactly why I'm not really interested in this title. Bethesda put out Shivering Isles for PC and 360, so when Epic said they weren't going to do it as way to encourage PC sales it really put them in a bad light IMO

If this is the same battle as the pc GOW I am both happy and disapointed.
Happy to live through it.
Upset that a piece of gow2 for my 360 is wasted on content that should have been released for gow.
Again thats if its the same.
George Arauz @ Feb 29th 2008 4:39PM
Been dyin to fight that big bastard
Royale @ Feb 29th 2008 4:47PM
Do we still not believe that the PC content isn't going to be released on the 360?
mike @ Feb 29th 2008 5:37PM
Why does everyone care so much. Did anyone even play GOW single player after beating it in 1 day. I mean its a 5 hour game. GOW is about the multiplayer. lets all hope GOW has more modes, guns, players, levels, tactics, options. It very may well be the best shooter multiplayer game ever.
caramelzappa @ Feb 29th 2008 5:52PM
The Brumak battle on the pc version was anticlimactic and rather easy. There was a lot of build up and then not much to the actual battle. I hope they do something more creative with it this time instead of rehashing a battle sloppily put together to sell the pc users the game they had already bought.
MDJ2010 @ Feb 29th 2008 10:04PM
Anyone got any ideas on possible new weapons?
webster1990 @ Mar 1st 2008 8:02AM
@ mike, i personally played the campaign several times over, it was a great laugh when i had a friend over. Plus, i didn't do it on hardcore straight away so i ahd to do it again for the cheevos ;)
Josh @ Mar 7th 2008 12:27PM
"Thank you Epic"?!
Side with the gamers, not the people who tried to force us to buy the same game on PC, idiots.
Mike @ Mar 15th 2008 9:19PM
The Brumak battle will be on the 360 version of GOW2. But what they don't tell you is that Advanced Brumak V 2.0 with special bells and whistles will be on the PC version of GOW2.
Screwing us yet again!
