Secure your copy of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith today!

For those of you interested in the upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, you can ensure your copy will be set aside from Red Octane's official website when the flood of loyal Steven Tyler fans remember to buy it after taking their Alzheimer's medication.
No, we joke. We wouldn't want to offend people with Alzheimer's by insinuating they would want to play a dedicated Aerosmith Guitar Hero game, which actually also features artists that inspired and are inspired by the band.
Set to hit stores this June, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith brings GH fans closer to a band that is known for their ... vocals. Wait, we still don't get it. OK, Aerosmith is cool enough but their staple band member is the singer not the guitarist. In fact we don't even know who the guitarist is but we assume he's the guy holding the guitar in the header above. Else, that could be a roadie doing some sound tests. Wait, I think Neversoft just trademarked Guitar Hero: Sound Test. Sorry readers, our bad.
Note: To clarify, this was written in jest. I know who Joe Perry is guys. ToJo is awesome, we're poking fun.

Joe Perry is a famous guitarist... its a shame you don't know his name.
Roto13 @ Mar 1st 2008 12:09AM
Well, one of the bands that has influenced Aerosmith is the Beatles. Maybe they'll be in there. :P But probably not.

What the hell is this story. After reading I can only come to the conclusion that someone left their home computer plugged in and their little brother decided it would be fun to make a post.
Hagfish @ Mar 1st 2008 12:13AM
umm seriously? Joe Perry isn't familiar to the writer? I'm either missing out on the joke or this website is showing it's (young) age.
Xav de Matos @ Mar 1st 2008 12:13AM
Yeah I don't know how he got out of his cage... strange.
Xav de Matos @ Mar 1st 2008 12:14AM
Oh it's written in jest... I know who Perry is!

If the Guitar Hero franchise were a band I'd say that they officially sold out; it started with all the in-game advertising in III. I have no interest in this whatsoever, and I am a HUGE fan of the Guitar Hero series. This really disappoints me.
Blue_Falcon @ Mar 1st 2008 12:57AM
I'd be willing to buy a band-specific Guitar Hero game.
Just not Aerosmith.
Murder Sho @ Mar 1st 2008 1:03AM

High-Brow Mouse @ Mar 1st 2008 3:53AM
Seriously, Joe Perry... For God's sake at VERY least watch Wayne's World 2.... He's in that one....
High-Brow Mouse @ Mar 1st 2008 3:54AM
Seriously though I'm holding out for Guitar Hero: Devo or Guitar Hero: Flock of Seagulls.
dylan @ Mar 1st 2008 4:12AM
I'm waiting for guitar hero : Technotronic

For all we know it could have one Aerosmith song per tier, or even just 3 or 4 total. Remember how *LEGENDS* of rock turned out? There were only two, and one was hardly a legend. The other was... well sorta a legend.
I dunno... I'm not that big of an Aerosmith fan either but I just don't see it being even 50%+ Aerosmith... and if it is... well that much the better so I don't have to buy it.
And the jests were mostly enjoyed... but really Joe Perry is one of the ones where everyone knows who he is; most bands you probably know the singer, but maybe not the guitarist. Aerosmith wasn't one of them.
At least they don't have to change the bassist from GH2/3! Har.

I want Guitar Hero:Technoviking edition!

"OK, Aerosmith is cool enough but they're staple band member is the singer not the guitarist."
Their, not they're.

I have a feeling this will collect dust on the shelf. Maybe this will be in the bargain bin with some Barbie game by Xmas time.
toonces @ Mar 1st 2008 11:52AM
Do you think someone at Activision raised the question that by doing an Aerosmith game that they'd be limiting their audience? I'm not trying to bash Aerosmith, but the cool thing about GH3 was I could play ZZ Top one minute & then be doing RATM & Bloc Party the next. I would've been sold on a GH: Hair Bands Edition, but I don't feel its worth the 60 McDunes...unless Liv Tyler dances in scantily clad outfits. Is she still hot?? I haven't seen her since Armeggedon.
Phil Walck @ Mar 1st 2008 11:06AM
I was at Best buy today and there was an ad for this game. More or less it said there would be famous Aerosmith songs as well as their favorite songs in this game. I don't know if this had been discussed or known.
violenceinhd @ Mar 1st 2008 12:36PM
Guitar Hero 3 and up sucks balls.
ccc @ Mar 1st 2008 2:38PM
Wow, this is really happening. Thats gay.
Aerosmith is sweet but this idea is dumb and is only further going to send GH fans flocking to ROCK BAND by the truck loads.
Neversoft, you really have made a big mess out of something that used to be great.
Jensen Wilhelm @ Mar 1st 2008 7:29PM
Wow I'll have to put this right next to my collection of awsomeness including the only ever sold dvd of "Gigli". Seriously...like seriously. Isn't Guitar hero suposed to be cornering the market for young male gaming interest? Why not release Guitar Hero: Elvis and beach boys so my mom can have a perfect collection? Think I'll save myself the $50 and have a baby wail in my ear while i play guitar hero on mute.
svenhoek @ Mar 3rd 2008 2:43PM
Ok GHZepp or GHACDC or GHMETALLICA are the ONLY three "band" themed ones that could work well enough for people to want to only play those bands.
Xav de Matos @ Mar 2nd 2008 9:17PM
Fixed the error and yet the game still seems like a bad idea.
Strange.
