EA's FaceBreaker knocks out 13 new screens

Earlier in the week EA released 13 new screens of their upcoming Fight Night spin-off, FaceBreaker. Reminiscent of the much-loved Ready 2 Rumble series, FaceBreaker adds an over-the-top cartoon style to boxing in the same vein as Team Fortress 2 or the upcoming PC free-to-play game, Battlefield Heroes. So far the game looks fantastic and but we can't help think that the inspiration for the game were those chin rippling punches hilariously famous in Fight Night, or maybe it was because everyone who worked on Fight Night is waiting in the unemployment line.

I thought they moved a lot of people from Chicago who did Fight Night to work on Facebreaker? Obviously a lot are out of work but I thought some did move as well.
Perhaps I just didn't read things / hear things correctly.

Man, EA really screwed the pooch with this game. They can the team responsible for one of the best games so far this generation (Fight Night Round 3) and then start developing a spiritual successor to "Ready 2 Rumble". EA, once again you suck.

This is a disgrace to boxing fans such as myself.. It's a big slap in the face by EA.. I guess we'll have to see how Prizefighter turns out

I am hoping it is more a spiritual successor to Punch-Out. That would be great if done well!!

Why does everyone assume that Fight Night is no longer being made?

I think you guys are way wrong about being bummed about this one. I've never been interested in a fight night game. But after seeing just the first few screens i think this will be the first "sports" game i buy on day one. And as we all know EA is going after people like me who have never had an interest in any of there other sports offering.

Looks like Ready 2 Rumble.
