With the rising mainstream popularity of video games it shouldn't be hard to imagine that licensed games can be million-sellers, but news like this just doesn't seem to fit. Selling a million copies on 360 alone, and 4 million across all platforms, the Ratatouille game will now be added to the 360's Platinum hits at a cost of $19.99, where it will undoubtedly sell even more. Which is a bit of a bad thing, as the game was not in any way well-recived by reviewers who found it to be average at best. We say if you're going to make a money-grabbing tie-in game at least make it solid, as other wise it's just an excuse for others to attempt the same thing. And likely fail, resulting in shelves of cookie-cutter-crap.

Ratatouille is indeed crap on the 360. For some reason, of the platforms that this game was released on, the 360 version came out busted.

I liked the game, good to hear that some other people besides the reviewers also liked it.

I find it much more disturbing that the new Sonic game is Platinum.

So pathetic. I think there could be other games (Gears like everyone is saying) that deserve Platinum more than Ratatouille. I mean, come on!

You know platinum releases are not for us, the consumers benefit. They are there to squee out every last penny from a game. If they were for our benefit, all games would become PH as soon as they hit 1 million, like gears of war. See gears of war still sells at a higher price, so why lower it? Ratatouille most likely sold 1 million, and sales slowed dramatically now. So they roll it out for PH and they get to milk a few more dollars off it. Look at halo 2. Took them until after halo 3 came out to make it PH, cause only now the sales have finally slowed down for it. Thus its time to scrape the bottom of the barrel with a platinum hits release.
Dont excpect Gears of war to go PH until at least a month before Gears of war 2 comes out, if not later after its out.

Meh alot or bad games make it to the Greatest/PLayers/Platinum hits so this wouldn't be much of a surprise..although I wish Microsoft would change their platinum hits design for the 360, IT LOOKS TERRIBLE, like they somehow went a step backwards..Loved the old one for being different (and silver :) , but this looks like some high school student splashed a layer of grey, then pasted an even smaller (then original PH) pic of the game as last minute photoshop project. Why?!
My two cents....

... Mike just hit the nail on the head.

There's far worse games for kids and I guess families to enjoy. Can't love everything.

I tried the demo.
Twice in fact - just in case my initial impression of it being utter shit was wrong.
My initial impression was confirmed.

How are the cheevs? Easy 1000 or what?
Chance Morgan @ Mar 12th 2008 12:33PM
Boff: I agree. I tried the demo and it was barely even playable.

"Average" is a bit of a stretch. "Lame" and "Dull" seem to be better adjectives.
