Rock Band to receive Earache thrash next week
Hmxsean just posted next week's Rock Band DLC over on the official forums and all we can say is be prepared for some Earache thrash.
On Tuesday, March 18th Harmonix will release an Earache Thrash Pack to the XBLM for 440 Microsoft points comprised of three master tracks from Earache Records bands. Ear-aching master tracks including "Blinded By Fear" by At the Gates, "Thrasher" by Evile and "D.O.A." by The Haunted. As always, each chunk of musical DLC can also be purchased separately for 160 Microsoft points. And if you couldn't tell, yes we do have a frown on our face from today's announcement. Ever since we knew "D.O.A." was headed to Rock Band thanks to a little leak, we figured it would be from the Foo Fighters. Obviously, we were wrong. Hopefully The Haunted's "D.O.A." is equally enjoyable.

Seriously.... can they find any crappier songs to put out as DLC. At this point I'd just enjoy a song I've heard at some point in my lifetime.

I'm glad they aren't shoving the same stuff down our throats like the radio. I'll by grabbing this pack.
Etchasketchist @ Mar 14th 2008 3:25PM
Wow. That's the most generic hardcore band ever. They're like the Black Eyed Peas of hardcore. Bad Brains would've been preferable.
Adam @ Mar 14th 2008 3:32PM
Cool! I'm not interested in ANY of those songs.

Just because you've not heard something doesn't mean it's "crappy".

Good. Metal songs are always fun to play on these games. This really stretch the vocal difficulty. I always enjoy a challenge. Plus, it's a nice change from the classic/alternative kick recently.

Ok, you guys don't know what you're talking about, At the Gates is a truly hornstastic band. I will be purchasing instantly.

FINALLY! METAL MUSIC! Can't wait to check this out!
Never thought they would have a song that would have double-bass drums! I wonder how it's going to work out!

I too wish it was DOA from the Foo Fighters. That would have been rather uber!
Deathrace King @ Mar 14th 2008 8:25PM
Good stuff. But a little odd of a choice considering when At The Gates broke up most of the guys went on to form The Haunted. Still, horns up!
BluesmanTLU @ Mar 14th 2008 9:50PM
At The Gates is domination.
Never heard of the other two.

Needs some Dimmu Borgir...

If you're playing EARACHE songs, where's Earache my Eye by Cheech & Chong?
thediminished5th @ Mar 15th 2008 2:12AM
Of course it was D.O.A. by The Haunted. I knew it as soon as I saw the leaked tracks a while back. I was tipped off when another song on the list was Shadow World, which is another The Haunted song from the same album as D.O.A.
dunnypop @ Mar 15th 2008 3:02AM
DOA is my fav. song by the Haunted. probably one of their best albums "One Killed Wonder".
I can't wait. this would be fun to scream!
Scharface @ Mar 15th 2008 10:31AM
Sweet...some real metal in the game. ATG and The Haunted....goodness.
Gore Fiendus @ Mar 15th 2008 12:50PM
I, personally, have been looking forward to this pack. not too pleased about the Haunted, but that Evile song is awesome, we need more metal & thrash or Rock Band.
Matazaj @ Mar 15th 2008 8:12PM
Wow they will put songs like this on rockband. But they wont put bands worth listening to like Nonpoint or Sevendust. -_- .
JohnHeist @ Mar 15th 2008 8:44PM
Daaaaamn, what happened to The Haunted ?

Frak! I've been waiting very impatiently for more Foo Fighters, and the thought that "D.O.A." was coming kept me going. Not so much, apparently.
