Halo 3 Legendary DLC details incoming and some snowy pics too

Sound the alarm and wake up your neighbors, because this week's Bungie Weekly Update confirms that next Tuesday, March 18th Bungie will reveal almost all there is all to know about the Legendary Map Pack. Details including the unveiling a new mystery map that'll join the already announced Ghost Town, other random informative bits as well as a specific release date for the new DLC. And to get us pumped for Tuesday's big reveal, Bungie posted four new images (all viewable in the gallery below) of a few vehicles we'll be seeing in the soon to be announced map and, wouldn't you know, they all have a wintry white paint job. Winterized vehicles including traditional rides like the Warthog and Mongoose as well as a snowy Scorpion and a re-balanced Hornet minus those damn, overpowered tracking missiles. So, using this knowledge and our expert analytical skills, we can pretty much confirm that one of the two yet to be announced Legendary maps will be full of snow and will be HUGE. Oh how we can't wait until Tuesday ... joy, joy, joy!

Snowbound has always been in Halo 3...it was in the beta even.

Anyway, It's Sidewinder or some kind of Assault on the Control Room/Two Betrayals type mixture, but my prediction is Sidewinder remake.

i love halo man. call of duty taking so long to update any damn thing and this game just keeps em coming. nobody can fugg with halo when it comes to sales or a real fan base and not some bandwagon type of call of duty stuff. i mean dont get me wrong. i love call of duty but compared to halo it really doesnt make me play it as much. i've played halo since the xbox first came out. and cod only since the 360 version. and could really care less if it wasnt around. HALO BABY ALL DAY EVERYDAY.

If its not Sidewinder it might be a remake of Containment(personally my favorite BTB map) or it could be a remake of one of the scrapped level concepts from Halo2 but in MP form.

No way it'll be Onslaught that has those vehicles. MLG is notorious for HATING anything you can ride around on (except maybe the mongoose). Vehicles are allegedly "for noobs".

Noobish or not, I sure love the Warthog.

Personally, I hope they don't put out ANY remakes as DLC. Yeah, Lockout was great in Halo 2 and Sidewider in Halo 1, but remakes just don't hold up to the original. Look at Hang 'Em High- best map in Halo 1, but Halo 2 didn't play the same as Halo 1 and the remake sucked. Same thing is happening with Zanzibar/Last Resort in Halo 3. Due to slightly different mechanics, feel, etc. it isn't anywhere near as good as it was before. I'd rather see Bungie dedicate their efforts to original maps that rock your socks off (like Standoff).

Like it or not, Bungie has pretty much confirmed that remakes were gonna happen ... I was a little surprise to see that we (might) get 2 of them in the next map pack, but the existence of at least 1 is, I think, almost inevitable.

when is the first map pack becoming free? I dont buy these map packs. Its not because I dont want to pay cause they are not that much, its just all I play is big team battle social (not ranked because it take a year to find a match in ranked). And the ods of all 16 players having the new maps in a big team battle match to play on them is basically next to 0. So theres no point in me buying new maps im not even gonna play on.

Im still waiting for the map pack 1 to be free so there will be 1 new map, rats nest, which can be used for big team battle. The lack of large maps for 16 players is a big complaint I have with halo 3. I mean theres only 3 of them, and maybe 2 more with the 2 dlc packs. There should of been at least 6 that came with the game.

I'd be willing to bet that one of the maps is gonna be Onslaught. But i dont think it will be the one with the white vehicles because it will be in the MLG Playlist... Maybe it will be a small close quarters map

I love Halo 3 and am anticipating new maps and matchmaking gametypes. I bet hard earned money a lot of people moved onto COD4 because of the lack of maps on Halo 3. Halo 2 had over 20. If Bungie released more as well as beefs up their matchmaking.... I bet a lot of players will return. In any case... I don't mean to sound like a fanboy.... But I bought COD4 because of all the hype around it. I played it for a month a got bored. It's an interesting game... I guess I'm use to more fast paced action... vehicles.... varing weapons.... different grenades.... and objects. This game never gets old IMO but to each their own. Can't wait for these new maps!!!

After the last map pack, it's gonna take some hella sweet maps for me to buy them. The last map pack was absolutely terrible and I felt like Bungie ripped me off bad. Probably gonna wait on these till they're free. Ghosttown looks pretty good though.

Why can't they change double team to include non-slayer game types? They always had a nice selection in Halo 2 and the Halo 3 beta.

heroic maps are gonna be free when the legendary pack comes out.
Thay should also add new objects to make in forge with these maps or maybe even a new weapon

Finally!! i have only heard of these maps five days ago, but it seems like it has ben five years... all and all the maps seem great from the pics, oh and one of the things i have really ben pumped about is the new snow camoflauge vehicles... especially the tank. Bottom line Bungie... great ideas and great game!
