Rainbow Six Vegas 2 deals galore!

Tomorrow, Mr. Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be ~~available at~~ shipping to retailers in the United States and those same retailers are trying their darnedest to lure you into their stores with special offers. So, we thought to ourselves. Self, we should highlight some of this week's best RSV2 deals. So, here we go.

Kicking off our RSV2 deal searching fun, we have Best Buy who is offering the game for the standard $59 price tag, but is including a special unlock code for an assault rifle. Yeah, we agree ... a lukewarm deal at best. But we trudge along and see that Circuit City is offering RSV2 for $59 as well, but is throwing in a pair of red fuzzy dice and a gamer's energy kit. A kit that comes complete with beef jerky, an energy drink, some energy gum and a few other goodies. A little quirky, but we approve. Next up is Target who is also selling the game for $59, but is including a $10 gift card as well. And finally, if you have a Fry's electronics store nearby, you can grab RSV2 for the loss-leader price of $39. Analyze all the RSV2 offers, make your purchase this ~~Tuesday~~ week and fully embrace retailer competition.

I'm pretty confident that Vegas 2 is not $39 @ fry's I checkout their site and it only lists Vegas 1, at $39. I'd love to be proven wrong. (The fry's link doesn't link to anything but an address to the store).

The Houston Fry's ad is $39.99 as well. Milosz, the website and store are technically separate entities and neither one price matches the other. Also Fry's should be a YMMV situation as they don't always have the same prices or specials nationwide.

@Big Filth - Be nice now buddy, everything will be just dandy. The game ships to retailers on Tuesday, March 18th so, depending on where you live in U.S., it could be as early as Tuesday or as late as Friday for when you can pick up the game. That said, I have updated the wording on this blog to prevent any confusion about Tuesday being the official date one could walk into a store and purchase a copy of RSV2. I hope you approve of the changes good sir.

The Fry's deal is awesome and will be the only reason and way I will pick this game up.

Also, the text for that Houston Chron ad is full of... suck. It doesn't make much sense.

Actually, some Gamestops (Mine for example) are expecting the game on Tues, something about the disctrict manager will be picking them up and getting them to our stores... Could be as soon as around noonish, late as 5-6pm... Of course, different areas vary, but that is the case at least here :)

The target commercial I JUST saw this morning is claimint that my local target will have it AVAIL on tue at 2pm....ooooh! I hope it's not a mistake.

Dustin, I think my frustration is with the whole policy that is used with the games and their release/ship dates. It really irritates me that they will be advertised for months for (example) the 12th only to not really be available till the following day. Movies, nor music do this so I can not figure out why games must. As much as I WISH i could pick this up tomorrow like these ass holes say I can, I know that EVERY store in my state will look at me like im crazy if I go in there looking for it. Its really dumb. I do thank you for the response and appreciate your gentleman like response.

@Big Filth - No problem man, your anger and annoyance is warranted. I too wish every game could be in retailers hands before the release week and come out on one specific date no matter if it's a blockbuster or a cheezy title. And yes ... we're still cool.

Yeah, I saw these deals in the paper yesterday. However, the Fry's ad here didn't say 39.99, which could get me to shop there again.

I have to say meh to the fuzzy dice and beef jerky kit, I'm not interested. The assault rifle I will take, however. Is it a one time use code?

In addition to the deals listed, isn't Gamestop also advertising some code for a free map or something?

Are the "codes" one-time use codes or are these something that will turn up on the internet and everyone will have them? No sense buying at Best Buy if I can get some of the other free swag from somewhere else and still get the assault rifle anyway from the interweb.

I think I was saying if it was available in america. I live near Miami Fl, which is a HUGE town, its not like im in the woods somewhere. It should be "available" here but it wont be.

I don't see anything in the Fry's ad for Seattle regarding RSV2 for $40. I may still stop by and take a look, but considering that I bet they are not the same ads nationwide, I wont hold my breath.

Anyone know for sure that they aren't nationwide?

I can understand a lot of peoples frustration with the whole release date thing, here's the thing to keep in mind...unless a title is "street dated" by the manufacturer (which means it is shipped to stores usually a the week before the "street date" so they have it available for sale on that date) the date that is usually quoted is a "ship date" or "release date" which means this is the day it is SHIPPED from the manufacturer. Obviously if a title has a "ship or release date" of 03/01/08 that means there will be some sort of transit time involved. Some companies on some titles will pay the manufacturer to air ship the title which means they will have it on that day or a day after. Other companies that don't pay the crazy cost of air frieght will get the title later in the week.

The game is coming out tomorrow. the release date means the stores are getting them at that time.. which means they will open the boxes and sell to a consumer depending on your state of course. also you guys should check game crazy. because I've called and they said they are the earliest people getting it.. but I don't think that is true. I will go up to my nearest Walmart at midnight and try to get it. ^ also vist www.rap-rumors.com when you get a chance if you like hip hop or music

I just saw a banner ad that said 3 20 as well. I almost cried.

First of all, I was under the impression today was the 18th until about 20 minutes ago! haha.

I almost cried.

Im gonna go by that Circuit City ad that says "in stores by wed 2 pm".

I can wait till wed. but damn I would love to have this game tomorrow.

I guess it gives me a couple more days to finish Condemned 2.

thanks for the link. I checked it out and yes, he is in SWEEDEN and got the game early. I am happy for him.

Who knows whos knob he had to slob for that but I think Ill be ok.

he doesnt seem to impressed by it though.
