Ten 360 games make Famitsu's top 25 of '07

Videogaming247 wrangled up all of super cool Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu's reviews from last year and compiled a list of the top twenty-five games of 2007 based on review scores. And, wouldn't you know, it appears that the Xbox 360 took home ten of the twenty-five spots. ZOMG!

360 games that made top twenty-five honors range from the Halo 3s and the Call of Duty 4s of the world to games like Lost Odyssey and Oblivion. Now, we're completely aware that we don't have to tell you how grand games on this top twenty-five list are, because we all know how freakin' amazing the 360's game catalog is. But for a highly respected Japanese gaming mag to give ten of the twenty-five top 2007 games honors to 360 titles ... well, that's newsworthy. Simply put, Japan's video game culture still doesn't embrace the Xbox brand, which makes Famitsu's rankings all the more intriguing. We already know one magazine's game rankings cannot change the anti-Xbox mindset Japan refuses to let go of, but we also know it doesn't hurt. It's a crying shame they're missing out on all the greatness that is the 360 ... oh well, their loss. Complete top twenty-five list posted after the break.

I think considering this and MS's continued push for Japanese-centric content we'll see some strides next generation. I mean, we have to remember how horribly the original was handled there... I wouldn't be in a rush to buy the next one either.

im shocked R&C are so low on the list... not sure why SMG is near the top... that game was okay... But thats just my opinion...

seriously, who cares about japan anymore? if they don't want to change their mindset, let them enjoy their playstations & nintendos.

i'm fine enjoying my 360 in a part of the world that's relevant...

Actually World Soccer Winning Eleven 2008 (PES08) for the Xbox360 should be number ten or nine in that list the PS3 version sucks. bad replays, graphics etc...

GTA:SA on PS2 only come out last year???!! and I am guessing they didn't localize an Xbox version for Japan?

If you include the multi-platform titles (GRAW2, Rainbow Six, Oblivion, etc) the PS3 got 9 games compared to the 360's 10 games.

Hey guyz. Im from japan, watching 360fanboy almost everyday. I just want you guyz to know one thing, just a one thing.

Famitsu is NOT a reliable source to know what japanese gamers like or not. Famitsu is know as asshole smelly magazine in here.

I and over 50% of japanese gamer believe Famitsu is horrible game mag in the world ever. You guyz dont know that they dont even play the game before they write reviews and give high score for ps3 and Nintendo games for no reason. So we dont care and trust about their reviews and contents since NES era in Japan. Their writings are totally sh!t, bribed as hell.

Unfortunately almost all of casual gamers dont even doubt Famitsu and believe in their way that loves domestic Developers and Publishers.

But in here, ppl who own 360 are loving 360 so much and we can fairly judge which games are nice or not. So I think this top25 list is completely prejudiced by Famitsu idiots and bribed as well.

Who the heck is Famitsu.

This List in no way shows japanese gamer taste as Mob had stated. Check EGM

But it does show that this Site is Named Properly.
You know the Fanboy Part.

This List is really just a joke. If I make a list and put it up online it is only good for one thing. Fanboys to Quote as Support for an argument.

@ mob: Thx for giving us input from Japan. It always helps to hear from those who we read about. What fuels the domestic-only console sentiment over there, aside from Famitsu?

I think it is great that they've recognized these great games on the 360 as truly being amazing. I think it shows that one who is "in the know" per say about games, and respect and understand the fact that the 360 has many great games on it.

Hopefully this can spur some interest in the 360 in Japan too. Like you said, it can't hurt!
