GRID screens and box art skid online
Race Driver: Grid is the latest installment in the TOCA Race Car series developed and published by Codemasters. Running on the same engine that powered Dirt, Race Driver: Grid is set in an urban environment where street racing has taken over the underground circuit.Underground street racing? We're surprised no one thought of this idea for a video game a long time ago. They should really look into making a movie or something. Well, at least these 20 screens look good.

I just got done playing an hour's worth of DiRT. If the visual tearing is fixed, sounds like Codemasters could have another great racing title on their hands. While the screens are nice, I have my reservations until I get to see it in action.

Yeah yeah yeah, Xav, still to be fair this game has more than that though.
Like DiRT, this game is going to have a bunch of very different modes, like European track racing, crazy Japanese mountain downhill racing, drift racing where you're actually rated on the angle, and US city racing. I guess my point is even if you don't like one event type I'm sure there will be some that you do.
Come on guys, DiRT was a great game (best racing game on the 360 in my opinion), so have a little faith in Grid not being a Need for Speed ripoff.
Loban @ Mar 19th 2008 12:52PM
I'd have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. Forza 2 is the best racing game on the 360. While DiRT looks amazing and the physics and damage modeling were great, it's just not the game for me. I prefer hard surface racing over dirt and gravel which is why i'm really excited for GRID. It should bring the great physics, damage modeling, and graphics of DiRT to paved surface racing.

I'm also excited about this game. If nothing else, because it's not made by EA. Pro Street looked kinda ok, and I wanted to try it but I decided not to support that company. This should definitely fill that void. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I'm in the same place as Loban. This does look good, which is a plus. I'm sure it'll play well. I just wonder where it'll be on the simulation/arcade scale. I'd assume somewhere near DiRT.

I always found the RACE DRIVER series on the PC to be heavy on the sim side. FUN however, not forgiving to n00bs who don't brake properly.
Definitely looking forward to this one.

This game cannot come soon enough for me. Hopefully I can get all 1000 Gamerscore like I did with DiRT.

still grinding away at the 1000 miles achievement for Dirt (even though I've driven for 2300+ miles total). I loved Dirt as well, my top 360 racer, but I'll have to wait and see what Codemasters does with this that others haven't tried yet. But really I'm looking forward to Dirt 2 without a busted online mode.

007ev:
I hope you're doing the Pikes Peak full event with a supercar, that's the most bang for your buck mileage wise.

MMM...this looks SOOO good!
