This morning, while posting about the new
Rock Band patch and the addition of an in-game Music Store, we were in an extreme excitement frenzy. So much so that we overlooked Harmonix's other news regarding
Rock Band DLC and how uber popular it has been, distributing (to date)
6 million downloads. 6 million! And if you recall, back in January MTV and Harmonix were trumpeting their horn when they announced sales of
2.5 million DLC downloads. Knowing that, in two months time gamers have purchased an additional 3.5 million tracks. Yeah, it's safe to say that the music industry has another revenue source.

Question is, will RB be super duper classy and make the current DLC work with RB2? Cuz that would just be the bee's knees if I don't have to switch discs to drum out Don't Look Back in Anger.

im happy to say im a proud supporter of Rock Band DLC. ive downloaded 10 songs so far and have 3600 MS points still in my pocket. Well, minus 1600 for the Halo 3 and COD 4 DLC maps ;)

Now that is impressive... I know that I download each week the new releases regardless the band. Curse them and their winning formula.

I've downloaded 20 tracks thus far. GH missed out big time, I've ditched GH completely and will never look back.

More money for HMX and MS than the music industry.

I wish they would start a deeper selection of tracks. I'm so over the whole classic and 90's rock hits their obsessed with. Get some alternative rock on there, some goth metal, ect.
Chase @ Mar 20th 2008 7:34PM
As long as they keep putting out good tracks, then people will keep downloading.
