Hurry! More Bad Company beta keys available [update]

Big news for those of you who missed out on the free Battlefield: Bad Company beta key codes that were released to the general public last Thursday. EA and DICE just replenished their stock and put up a new batch of public keys that are available on a first come first serve basis. And you'll be happy to know that they are available right now! W00t!
If you recall, when they first became available, all of the Bad Company public beta keys were claimed within' a few hours time leaving many wannabe participants empty handed. So quickly, most fanboys didn't even know how to obtain one before it was too late. So, this time we advise pointing your browser to IGN's FilePlanet, answering a few questions, signing up and grabbing your free beta key before they disappear. Remember, EA will be flipping the switch within' twenty-four hours time when the Bad Company beta officially kicks off tomorrow the 25th.

only subscriber keys left. is it just me or is this the new avenue stream for ea in getting people to sign up for a paid service and then have them spend ms points for weapons on an f-ing beta. would continue rant, but must remove fangs from throat.
Tony @ Mar 24th 2008 1:39PM
Yeah, only subscribers keys remain... Makes me wonder how many free ones they had. Seems like a ploy to get money lol. No thanks.
Scott @ Mar 24th 2008 1:41PM
You have to have a paid account for the site at this point
drdre74 @ Mar 24th 2008 1:43PM
GONE!!!! damnit!!!! i went to the site as soon as you posted this. lol!
Killadelphia @ Mar 24th 2008 1:45PM
Yea 7 minutes isn't very long for all those keys to go... Maybe someone at IGN found a key in their couch or under the computer desk or something...
Tr3y MoNey @ Mar 24th 2008 1:51PM
Glad I got mine when I had the chance last week! Sorry to those less fortunate! See ya in the Beta tomorrow!
yogesh893 @ Mar 24th 2008 1:53PM
I saw these at 12 eastern. I made like 8 accounts and got codes 4 all my friends 0=]

The people at Infinty Ward went about doing a public beta correctly. The people behind Bad Company....not so much.
Big Zimm @ Mar 24th 2008 1:57PM
Thanks for the heads up!!! I am so pumped for this game. I have been a fan of the Battlefield series since 1942.
I'm downloading my copy of the beta right now.
Tapio @ Mar 24th 2008 1:59PM
Yeah got mine too last week, sucks for those who cant join.
Battlefield waits tomorrow!

@jim
The beta handout for COD4 was a huge cockup. They broadcast when it would go live at their site and promptly had it crash when rabid gamers were F5-ing it to death. Then they announced a new time only to have the same thing happen again. Read 402's blog archives for their apologies/chagrin

I used to be an insider but cancelled when I realized it was worthless for the most part. I was lucky enough to get one of the public keys last week though. I am hoping it is as good as the COD 4 and Halo 3 betas, but that is probably a stretch.

Oh I'm late.
Damn you Veruca Salt!

But the intent seemed to be different. This beta test seems more like a marketing ploy, saving beta keys for paying members. Wonder how many more keys there would be if they didn't save some exclusively for IGN insiders?
David @ Mar 24th 2008 2:24PM
It's $15 for a year and who knows, maybe being a member will have future benefits.. I really don't think it's a lot if you are a Battlefield fan or are interested in the game.
Tony Bowman @ Mar 24th 2008 2:34PM
it seems like there an unlimited number of keys for IGN-paying members, but extremely limited public keys. that's a shame.
i think i'll spend my $$ on Sid Meyer's Pirates! on Xbox Originals instead.
violenceinhd @ Mar 24th 2008 2:46PM
If you're a Battlefield fan, you probably aren't looking forward to this game anyway. I know I'm not.
BF2142 on the consoles please.
Edidid @ Mar 24th 2008 3:09PM
Paying for betas and faster demo downloads?
What sort of consumer would actually fall for that?
Firecatman @ Mar 24th 2008 2:53PM
A little slow??
They started the 2nd batch around 12pmEST and they were gone within 1 1/2 hrs
Tony Bowman @ Mar 24th 2008 2:55PM
@ comment #16, David: that line of thinking equates to this, in my mind: you're paying what amounts to $75 total(no special edition nonsense for you, either!) to play the game if you buy it when it releases to retail, in exchange for playing a gimped version of the game for a month now.
hardly seems like a deal to me.
ZEBRA NINER @ Mar 24th 2008 3:12PM
Luckily I got mine with the last one, I saw a post in the COD forum on xbox.com. I gave heads up to all my friends and we got in early. Once they were up on the sites they went quick.
Can't wait to try it out.
Brucie B @ Mar 24th 2008 3:14PM
So now you gotta Pay To Play, WOW
Icky @ Mar 24th 2008 9:59PM
Would anyone let me recover their profile so i can download the beta?
Eric @ Mar 24th 2008 3:48PM
A**holes. I'm not paying to subscribe to fileplanet for access to a beta. Convenient that they don't tell you that until after you've signed up for an account.
Sean @ Mar 24th 2008 4:08PM
@violenceinhd
O RLY? The general opinion with Battlefield fans (1942/BF2) was that 2142 is the worst of the lot - by far.
RolexDPracer @ Mar 24th 2008 4:28PM
I just got my confirmation!!
VanIslePimp @ Mar 24th 2008 7:49PM
TeamXbox is giving away an additional 50 keys to the beta right now. First come, first serve and it just started!
bugatti23007 @ Mar 24th 2008 10:05PM
I won't waste my time getting the beta. The game is made by EA.They don't have a good track record of consistent quality games.EA is an evil empire they're trying to take over Take 2 and take away competition. Its bad for consumers.
