Master Chief, Locust and Marcus ... meet UT3

The Unreal Tournament 3 character modding community is alive, kicking and has a bad case of Xbox 360 envy. So much envy that UT3 community modeler Organ decided to create Master Chief, Locust Horde and Marcus Fenix character mods. And did we mention all the models are teh hawtness? Just take a look at Master Chief above and try to convince us that he wouldn't be your character of choice. Oddly enough, if Epic were to include these models in the "maybe some day" release of UT3 on the 360 we may totally forget about playing custom maps and be happy with these models. Click towards the break to watch a video of the Master Chief model and head towards the jump to check out Mr. Fenix and a Locust Drone. Commence salivating.

Unfortunately, i heard UT3 is mediocre, so I'm having doubts about getting it later this year.

Yea I have this game on PS3. I expected more but to me it was a letdown. Maybe Im more of a tactical guy because this is run and gun on steroids. I might download these mods just to check em out though.

Fenix you are totally right... Run and Gun on Steroids... or in other words Halo 3 on Steroids!
I love this game... too I cant play it on my ps3 cause my internet keeps getting dns error whenever my ps3 gets turned on?

this MC model looks better than the one in Halo 3...

UT3 is great - on the PC. The PS3 version only runs on medium settings, and lacks total conversion support (which is where the real content is at! Complete games built using the UE3 editor packaged with the game).

Overall though, UT3 just lacks the community support given to UT2k4 - a lot of the faithful seem to have jumped ship to other games.

UT3 is FAR from mediocre... Maybe on the PS3 it is because of the horrible controller and the fact that it's 20-30% slower... If anything its probably just the shitty controller.

On PC the game kicks ass.

This game just went from bad to mediocre just for adding this characters but I still won't play it this is the biggest piece of shit EVER! on the PS3 bad lag

UT3 on the PS3 is a little slower, but it doesn't feel like it as it is much faster than most other console FPS. Over all UT3 plays like UT2k4 but with Gears of War models. Everything in it looks like it came from Gears of Wars but with color.

While the PS3 version does lack total conversion you can still import basic gametypes, mutators, and maps.

The problem with UT3 on the PS3 is they nerfed the keyboard/mouse and the voice chat is broken. Though last week's patch is suppose to have fixed voice. that leaves keyboard and mouse control. It's cool it has keyboard and mouse control but you can not set it up as sensitive as PC. On PC oyu put in a number from 1 to 9999. On PS3 it is 1-11 if I remember. I would like a 5.5 as I find 5 too slow and 6 too fast.

So if it comes to the 360 I don't think it will gain much ground. It has to compete with Halo which has a very large following. I prefer the UT style of play over Halo.

UT3 has big potential. But it's not getting the effort. All of the effort into making UT3 was put into warfare, which quite frankly sucks.

Invasion, racing / objective, MAPS are all gone. I'd play UT04 again but I'm on vista so I'm stuffed.

I just hope they bring out some damn needed patches.
