A reminder to those who were able to
score a key code or put down a pre-order at Gamestop that the
Battlefield: Bad Company multiplayer beta has officially begun. The semi-exclusive beta will run from now through April 25th and feature multiplayer mayhem spread across two maps featuring the Gold Rush gametype. And after firing up the beta for a few quick games this morning we must say, this game has potential. The graphics are gorgeous and the Frostbite engine's destructible environments seem to work as promised. We'll have to play a lot more
Bad Company before we have a definitive opinion, but from what we've experienced thus far, it seems to be good times. Anyway, the
Bad Company beta is live, so get in if you want and if you can. Oh, and know that
weapons are not included. Mwahahaha!

LOL stop tormenting me I'm away at a college visit until tomorrow :(
Tr3y MoNey @ Mar 25th 2008 11:15AM
I tried it before I left for work and let's just say I wasn't exactly "on time". I think I shot a tank with my G36(?) and blew myself up with a grenade. That's about all the fun I had.
ANt @ Mar 25th 2008 11:20AM
The beta is very cool so far. The only thing I have seen that needs some work is that you need to hit a guy at least 10 times to drop him, unless your using a sinper rifle......I think this one is going to be great though!!
Neuromancer @ Mar 25th 2008 11:27AM
Everyone knows it takes 10 shots to kill someone in real life! My only complaint is that, in fitting with the Gold Rush theme, you can't play as a crazy old prospecter, with a mouthful of a broken teeth and a jug of moonshine.
AnOffday @ Mar 25th 2008 11:43AM
I think this is the first beta that I didn't give a crap about getting into.
x silence x @ Mar 25th 2008 11:49AM

Tr3y MoNey @ Mar 25th 2008 12:00PM
Anyone like Frontlines game? I've been playing the MP demo a lot here lately. The vehicles are tight. OFFTOPICIKNOW
scott @ Mar 25th 2008 12:12PM
Frontlines is a pretty good game and Kaos seems to really be responsive to the community/support. They definetly have things to work on, but I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoy the game. It's great if you have some people to play with for squad formation because there is a rock-paper-scissors kind of thing going where the squad has to have different load-outs to counter everything that's going to be coming at you. Can't just have everybody running drones or you're going to get massacred.
Adam @ Mar 25th 2008 1:36PM
Frontlines is a much better game. The new battlefield is terrible. No parachutes? thats weak as hell.I played for about an hour and was disgusted. The heli controls are terrible. In frontlines you can use multiple weapons on tank without having to switch positions.
Its like they tried to squeeze cod4 with the battlefield style play and its terrible. The whole blowing stuff up is unimpressive and it isnt anything i havent seen before.
I will skipping this game frontlines puts this game to shame.
marklar @ Mar 25th 2008 12:45PM
good to know - i've been too busy playing RSV2!!!
mark.j.smith @ Mar 25th 2008 12:49PM
So...there is no way to get friends into a game, or join their game.
And...be damned if I can figure out how to chat in the game.
THE RPG NERD @ Mar 25th 2008 1:02PM
I haven't been able to join a game so far. The little message that scrolls at the top of the screen says they are experiencing server issues.
Digital Limit @ Mar 25th 2008 1:14PM
How is the destructibility online?
todd @ Mar 25th 2008 1:16PM
Be nice if I can actually get into a game... server is overloaded I guess.
ZEBRA NINER @ Mar 25th 2008 1:19PM
Hopefully I'll get a chance to try this out tonight. I'm looking forward to it.
EDW @ Mar 25th 2008 1:28PM
ugh. it doesn't even work for me (as always.) "Searching for games. Please stand by."
NukeAssault @ Mar 25th 2008 1:35PM
If i could get into a damn game id tell you how it was. =(
Digital Limit @ Mar 25th 2008 1:42PM
What's with these Frontlines people?
Does anyone even play that game?
Adam @ Mar 25th 2008 1:54PM
Im saying frontlines is a better game which it is.Saying gta3 series is better than saints row is a lie.just like saying the new battlefield is better than frontlines is a lie.
Play it and then play frontlines tell me how much battlefield sucks
Vcize @ Mar 25th 2008 2:40PM
Saints Row was garbage. Crackdown, now that's another story...
Merehorseplay @ Mar 25th 2008 3:07PM
Not that frontlines is all that great, but the battlefield beta is not better. Needs alot more cooking, in fact just throw it away and start completely over. EA the meal is burned.
erivera3 @ Mar 25th 2008 4:04PM
Frontlines is a pretty terrible game.
I wish I got into this beta but I didn't know about it until it was too late.
VINCE @ Mar 25th 2008 6:24PM
Bad company is great, so far its fun. Yes, cant get in games, sometimes get lag, tank is reeeallly powerful but its a BETA people, issues are why they run a beta. Otherwise they would call it a Demo.
hot zizzy @ Mar 25th 2008 7:34PM
One last beta key up for grabs:

ive played both demos and i can say (as a person who hates multiplayer fps's) battlefield kept me entertained and actually had me wanting to play it some more, the aiming and balance needs some help though.
