You can't hate a developer for trying to consistently milk one of their successful titles for some quick cash. Oh wait, yes you can and in this case, we will. Namco is planning on releasing their
second third fourth umteenth set of
Ace Combat 6 downloadable content this Thursday, March 27th featuring six new jets ranging from free to 400 Microsoft points, a Co-op Battle Download #2 and an Ace of Aces Mission #2 pack. Those two packs are 300 points apiece. All calculated, if you wanted all the new
AC6 DLC it'll set you back 2100 Microsoft points. Or you can save your cash and wait until next month, when (almost like clockwork) Namco will probably scam you out of your points with some more expensive DLC. Oh, and for the handful who are interested, tomorrow's DLC details are posted after the jump.

I think this is just Namco's approach in general. Beautiful Katamari had way too much of it, but it didn't get to this level. They do the same thing with Idolmaster though, I saw at least a few additional packs for it that were 1,000 points each.

Sweet,
Although I'm not normally a flight sim enthusiasts, I may just pick this up due to all the DLC support.

@Knight Marquise
It's people like you that are the reason they keep making this overpriced sh*t.
Aero @ Mar 26th 2008 6:43PM
I don't get why they are putting anime girls on fighter jets. It's like if Bungie released downloadable Care bear armor for Halo 3.

Liquid,
Who me? I've been called a lot of names in my life, hell, even been blamed for quite a few things, but this, sir, is the first time I've been blamed for:
"overpriced shit"
I dont know if I should be upset or honored.
Seriously, it's only overpriced if you don't want the content and somehow lack the personal restraint to keep yourself from buying it.
It's priced just right, if the content is found desirable and purchased in droves.
Everyone should let their wallet do the talking. Don't fault folks who choose to purchase something they want, for a price they find acceptable, just because you don't.

thats a $100 I spent on this game in dlc

Well said.
@Aero
If that happened I'd buy it and start playing Halo 3 again.

Hit the nail right on the head. Ive said the same thing about every other AC6 content pack. I bought all the other Idolmaster planes, I'll be buying these two.
Im just stoked about FINALLY an IM F-22 ;)
xenocidic @ Mar 27th 2008 1:11AM
who the heck keeps buying this crap?
Johnny_Ridden @ Mar 27th 2008 2:40AM
I love the Ace Combat series and all, but AC6 being a huge disappointment and Namco's constant "nickel and dimeing" is pissing me off.
scottwad @ Mar 27th 2008 5:19AM
bs, so far the dl's out way the games price by a lot. By about 38 dollars in fact. I call shenanigans.
scottwad @ Mar 27th 2008 5:26AM
I figured up all the dl's for this game before this and it's a staggering 6001 ms points (maybe more). Do the math! Just play the game, maybe buy the coop missions but come on. I poop on that. Hell I poop on that 4 U.
thisguyrighthere @ Mar 27th 2008 8:14AM
I'm still waiting for AC6 to be deemed a hit or whatever so I can get it for $30. Maybe by then the DLC will be free because I'm not paying money to fly some plane with cartoon kiddy porn all over it. I'll fly one for free but I'm not going to pay for it.
Neuromancer @ Mar 27th 2008 9:32AM
The co-op was the most disappointing thing for me for this game, just 3 missions? Come on Namco! I guess I could shell out for the additional co-op missions, can anyone tell me if they're worth getting? And are they just retreads of campaign missions?
jaybird1905 @ Mar 27th 2008 10:27AM
Namco is a fucking joke.
I bought this game, loved it, but REFUSE to pay INDIVIDUALLY for a single aircraft. 400 pts for a single plane? Are you kidding me?
Maybe when all these become free I'll download them.
