Given the recent launch of their dev blog, the guys over at The Behemoth are interested in getting news about Castle Crashersout there. Recently updated, the blog now contains a video of the game artist Dan Paladin painting pieces of the game in real-time. The video is well worth the watch for any artistic types, or even those who just like the game's art style. We watch about 30-40 minutes of work fly by in 9 minutes as Dan paints rocks, walls, tombstones and more, as well as place them right into the game environment. It's a fascinating view into the creation process of the game as it seems to be unique to The Behemoth, though of course there may be other companies that use the same process. Either way, if you liked this video, there's another one embedded after the break, this time showcasing Dan creating the Castle Crashers world map.
Not sure if it's "real-time" if it's sped up like that, but a technicality! Cool videos, I love watching digital artists at work, especially ones like Dan Paladin with a really unique style.
Guys, guys, "real-time" refers the fact that the newly created assets are then placed directly into the game environment, instead of having to be imported.
I even said: 'We watch about 30-40 minutes of work fly by in 9 minutes" so you should've known that I KNEW that the vid was sped-up.
Haha, I was just giving you a hard time about the real-time, I knew what you meant. I was also trying to figure out what program he was using, not sure.
im pretty sure its corel painter or something similar its deffinatly vector based but i dont think its flash. the toolset seemed more drawing orientated than flash.
i third the awsome 1st song comment. dans obviously got great taste in music. can't wait for castle crashers most anticipated xbla game well until they announce a proper sequal to geometry wars!

I guess you can draw that fast, in real-time, when you push it to the limit...

I found it. Think the first song was Stereoheroes - BoomSlang

I'm sure it's not realtime. I think for one of the videos they posted they said it was 6x time. I'm guessing this is the same.

Seconded on the awesome song. Rewatched the video a couple times just for the song.
