Not a part of the
Artist of the Month series, instead part of a newer
Xbox Live Music Showcase program,
Coheed and Cambria are celebrating the second single off their album
No World For Tomorrow with a free video download off of the XBLM. Coheed and Cambria's four plus minute video "
Feathers" music video can be downloaded off the U.S. Marketplace and into your musical heart. Or so, we think that's the point of offering a free video, to get you to love it obsessively. Enjoy!

Sgt Barone @ Mar 27th 2008 2:48PM
awesome! CO&Ca's the best band out there!!
Josh @ Mar 27th 2008 2:48PM
Sweet...Welcome Home is one of my favorite songs on Rock Band. They're definitely an awesome group.
Lewis @ Mar 27th 2008 2:54PM
Co&Ca are the only decent new-ish bands still around.
reesers @ Mar 27th 2008 2:58PM
Yay for more Coheed love!
therpham @ Mar 27th 2008 3:04PM
I would have liked it better if it had been a free Rock Band download!
Also, have you guys watched this yet? It's slightly creepy in a kind of corny way and has absolutely nothing to do with the song.
I don't like that their videos rarely if ever have anything to do with the actual story of the saga.
Sgt Barone @ Mar 27th 2008 3:08PM
well, they're not exactly a huge band, even though they have one of the fastest growing fan bases out there, so i assume their budget for music vids isn't that high. who cares, great song!
murph @ Mar 27th 2008 3:12PM
Yuck. Welcome Home is definitely one of the top 3 tracks i'd like to REMOVE from Rock Band.
where did all these posters come from? Co&CaFanboy.com??
Chase @ Mar 27th 2008 3:49PM
If I have to be subjected to any more wasteful, pop punk drivel from the sad excuse of a band named Coheed and Cambria, I will gladly look forward to having someone pour poison in one or both of my ears. Maybe it is because I am in a retched mood but being force fed something people actually consider music into my head by a group of talentless teens playing on their parent's musical instruments is something I would not relish on the finest of autumn days. The vocals sound like a midget getting choked by helium and I instantly want to jam pens in my ears so I can save my brains from melting and oozing out.
Coheed and Cambria seem hell-bent on becoming the most pretentious band ever. In all due seriousness, who can write a song called "Ten Speed (Of Gods Blood and Burial)" and - not - be a massive douche bag?
Viridium @ Mar 27th 2008 4:16PM
OK I'm not as fanatical as Chase, but I agree to an extent. I hadn't heard of the band prior to playing Rock Band. IMHO their song in Rock Band sucks anus; out of curiosity based upon their name I read up on the band - and what a retarded premise! Again, in my opinion only.
Personal choice - you like 'em, then this is great news. Free content, even if you don't like it, just continues to set the precedent. I'm glad to see this Coheed and Cambria stuff on XBLM, even if I think it sucks ass.
Because chances are you all think my musical taste sucks ass - and I'm fine with that. I like it because I like it, you like it because you like it.
Tegolin @ Mar 27th 2008 4:21PM
I'll buy anything thats free.
AoE @ Mar 27th 2008 8:08PM
Wow, people like this super generic crap? While I've heard OF the band, I can't say I'd ever heard them... so I took a look at Feathers on youtube.... what a mistake.
First six commentors... are you paid by the band? If not... wow... really? really really? Are ClearChannel and MTV your only sources for music or something? Because honestly.... crap like this will rot your brain.
Hagfish @ Mar 27th 2008 9:59PM
Not sayin you have to like the band but to call them talentless is pretty ridiculous... They're all good players and their current drummer is insanely talented (heard of dillinger escape plan?)
The thing people can't seem to get over on first impression is the wild-ass vocals which is understandable -- I was the same way at first then it really grew on me.. btw- they're a lot older than you think.. far from "talentless teenagers"
AoE @ Mar 27th 2008 10:49PM
Hagfish, what "wild-ass vocals" are you talking about? They sound like standard alterna-vocals, highly generic.
Do you honestly believe in a world where singers like Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Kahimi Kari, Momus, Bianca Casady, Ticky, Bjork, Serj Tankian, etc. etc. etc. exist that these vocals are anything special... or even anything not overdone and generic? This band couldn't be more generic if they changed their name to ClearChannel the band. Sure they're competent enough with thier instruments I suppose... but the music lacks any hint of a soul, it's painful.
Hagfish @ Mar 27th 2008 11:25PM
While I agree that all those artists you mention are unique, it's crazy to say that claudio's vocals are mainstream or generic.. Most folks I've let listen to coheed immediately say it's reminiscent of geddy lee.. Is he generic too? Here's my idea of "clearchannel generic"
nickelback - 3 days grace - daughtry - creed - 3rd eye blind, and any other lame ass rock band you here on modern rock radio -- talk about bands that might as well all share the same singer
I'm not here trying to say that c&c are the saviors of music, but to say it's generic and talentless is just flat out wrong..
one more thing, are you basing these hot opinions all on the rock band track?
Aaron @ Mar 28th 2008 1:27AM
for all you folks who are basing your incredibly rude and ignorant comments on the one song you heard because you saw the free video on XBLM or Welcome Home and Ten Speed in Rock Band, and especially those that say this band is talentless, why don't you go and actually listen to any of Coheed's other music that hasn't been released as a single. Especially from their first two albums. The technicality that they employ in EVERY song, even the singles, is on a level at least 5 times higher than any other slightly popular band today. Go educate yourselves.
AoE @ Mar 28th 2008 6:49PM
@Hagfish, regarding Geddy Lee's singing... I wouldn't call it generic, but he hardly stands alone. You have to admit his sound fits right in there with other early metal/hard rock/whatever you want to call it acts.
But look at it this way, you pretty much just said C&C's sing has got a generic (or at least, a not remotely unique) sound if people draw IMMEDIATE conclusions that he sounds like someone else. To be fair though, I shouldn't have put Cedric on my list for similar reasons.
And yes, I did base that on the single that was linked to in the post. The fact is though, most good acts singles are at the VERY least listenable, though granted rarely their strongest work. That song sounded so much like all the other radio fluff out there that frankly i have no desire to explore further. If they really are a decent band as you believe... then shame on them for letting such a crap track see the light of day, it's clearly damaging their rep, and any band who would let such shit out of the gate... I'm willing to assume it's not all that shitty across the board... but any band who is willing to let such shit out of the gate must be uneven and inconsistent at best, especially if this was deemed single-worthy.
Hagfish @ Mar 29th 2008 3:57AM
Ok, here's my last attempt to try and understand your point.. If this is generic radio fluff as you say, please list some generic radio fluff bands that they sound so similar to.
p.s. It's ok to say you just don't like them!
