Ghost Recon's smoking file teases us

One of our eagle-eyed readers tipped us off to an interesting development on the official Ghost Recon site. Users are treated to a large smoking file flash overlay when the site is loaded up. It appears that some information still marks the burning folder but as it stands the entire thing is a mystery. With the recent release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, the ownership agreement with Tom Clancy and the continued domination of Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on Xbox Live (proving gamers want more than just Halo 3) is it possible this new smoking file could contain a gun? A gun called Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 3?
[Thanks, Jbarnum]

Or maybe it's another one of those End War things. Or possibly something to do with another Clancy franchise like Splinter Cell...

Viral Marketing like this tops the iPhone on my list of most annoying inventions ever.

@Arcaynn: Bothers me because it takes over the entire site with no easy way to close the file down.

@Xav: Yea same here. There is always like a little tiny transparent "X" in one corner of the screen. Can never tell where it is though because of the damn thing on the screen!

I like the animation. Especially considering it's Flash. Not that i know anything about Flash and what it can do. Still..it's pretty!

Its probably something more along the lines of Army of One-Half considering the rate of multiless player evolution in the Ubicamp.

GR has to go old school again. The GRAW games have to much crap on the screen. Maybe, I'm old but the old school GR on the PC played around 2001 with the desert and jungle expansions, and a ton of a free mods (maps, weapons, outifts) was the shiz nite. The community was pretty close given most of us were on 56k. Even the single player campaign was more indepth with team stragegy realism, then the games now. GRAW now is more of a novelty, COD4 360 is holdin it downnow. NEW MAPS APRIL 3rd $$

Maybe it's just me but if you click accept, another screen comes up with an estimated decryption time, at the the time of this post it says 118:42:and some seconds, maybe a countdown?

Yea, check the site out now, you can click accept, then it loads some screen where it scans some European countries. It also has a video you can play. Looks like a new GRAW to me.
