Bungie brings back the SWAT

Red team go! Bungie has announced that they will be reactivating Team SWAT for Double XP this weekend in Halo 3 social matchmaking after the original playlist was removed last week. Beginning at today at 2PM PST and ending on at 2AM PST on Monday. In order to balance the playlists Team Hardcore has been removed to make way for the upcoming MLG playlist that is set to go live as soon as the Double XP weekend ends on Monday. Time to get tactical folks!

I never played this mode before so what is like serious Team slayer or objective except you get double XP?

SWAT is a fast-paced gametype where players have no shields but increased body health. You start with a BR, Magnum, and two grenades and there are no weapons on the map. One headshot with BR or Magnum kills.

Makes for very fast play and is a ton of fun. Helps you develop that "sniper twitch" :)

@Samuel Vimes: Clearly you do not listen to the Fancast. If you did you would know that is a joking expression we use on a regular basis.

In fact the term was coined by the team at Bungie, specifically Frank O'Connor during the Bungie podcast.

We like to have fun with our readers here. But thanks for commenting either way.

No I don't listen to the podcasts. And while I understand it's a joking situation, it is jokes like these that keep this fad going. Joking or not it's ruining society left and right when great, unique, ideas are overlooked, while some kid with an IQ of a melted popsicle can start up some internet fad that makes our supposid supreme intelligence, exactly the opposite.

I understand though that you're using it jokingly. It's still disgusting, but it doesn't stop me from checking the site every 5 minutes.

I'm suprised it's not going to be a permanent playlist people where playing that like crazy, i liked it.

And is the MLG playlist just going to be Hardcore with a different name?

@Samuel Vimes: Uhh dude medicate yourself. Swat was the ONLY reason I kept playing halo 2 and is still the reason I play it today. It should always be included in Halo 3.

More regular playlists = more variety = a chance at maybe (and I stress maybe) taking the #1 spot on live again.

Personally I'm not a big MP person but I might check both this and Grifball but since you're all for twitch-shooting, shouldn't you all be playing UT/3/2004 right now?

I actually like more Team Fortress 2.I was checking Halo 3 since well I bought the Heroic maps back in January and I never used them until now(Damn you Bungie for making them free) and my Wii needs to be repaired.

Also that the new TF2 maps won't arrive soon to the xbox live.
