GTA IV Achievements, Edition II: Descriptions!

Well, rather than a single big release, it looks as though the GTA IV achievements are going to get leaked in parts. First there was the reference-filled list of achievement names, now the guys over at xbox360achievements.org have gotten their hands on the point values and requirements for the list. A poster on their forums provided the list and so these descriptions and point values should be taken with a grain of salt. But really, you can look over the list for yourself and see whether or not the descriptions make sense with the names and values. Whatever the case may be, the achievements are spread rather wide and cover everything from mini-games and story progress to more arcade-esque survival challenges. As the release date of April 29th approaches, the hype for this thing just continues to grow and grow, and from a glance at the achievements it looks like this could actually live up its hype.

Off the Boat 5G
Complete the first mission.

One Hundred and Eighty 10G
In a darts game score 180 with 3 darts.

Pool Shark 10G
Beat a friend at pool.

King of QUB3D 15G
Beat the High Score in QUB3D

Finish Him 15G
Complete 10 melee counters in 4 minutes

Genetically Superior 25G
Come first in 20 singleplayer street races.

Wheelie Rider 30G
Do a wheelie lasting at least 500 feet on a motorbike.

Gobble Gobble 10G
Score 3 strikes in a row, a turkey, in 10-pin bowling.

Driving Mr. Bellic 10G
Unlock the special ability of taxi.

Rolled Over 30G
Do 5 car rolls in a row from one crash.

Walk Free 50G
Lose a 4 star wanted rating by outrunning the cops.

Courier Service 10G
Complete all 10 package delivery jobs.

Retail Therapy 10G
Unlock the special ability of buying guns from a friend.

Chain Reaction 20G
You must blow up 10 vehicles in 10 seconds.

One Man Army 40G
Survive 5 minutes on 6 star wanted level.

Lowest Point 5G
Complete mission "Roman's Sorrow".

Over Fulfilled 10G
Complete all 10 Exotic Export orders.

Manhunt 15G
Complete the most wanted side missions from the police computer.

Cleaned the Mean Streets 20G
Capture 20 criminals through the police computer.

Fed The Fish 5G
Complete the mission "Uncle Vlad".

It'll Cost Ya 5G
Complete a taxi ride without skipping from one island to another.

Sightseer 5G
Fly on all helicopter tours of Liberty City.

Warm Coffee 5G
Successfully date a girl to be invited into her house.

Unlock the special ability of helicopter.

Half Million 55G
Reach a balance of $500,000.

Impossible Trinity 10G
Complete mission "Museum Piece".

Full Exploration 20G
Unlock all the islands.

You Got The Message 20G
Deliver all 30 cars ordered through text message.

Dare Devil 30G
Complete 100% of the unique stunt jumps.

Assassin's Greed 20G
Complete all 9 assassin missions.

Endangered Species 50G
Collect every hidden package in the game.

Under the Radar 40G
Fly underneath the main bridges in the game that cross water with a helicopter.

Dial B For Bomb 10G
Unlock the special ability of phoning for a bomb to be placed.

Gracefully Taken 10G
Complete mission "I'll Take Her".

Liberty City (5) 20G
After meeting all possible friends, the ones left alive all like you above 90%.

No More Strangers 5G
Meet all random characters.

That Special Someone 10G
Complete mission "That Special Someone".

You Won! 60G
Complete the final mission.

Liberty City Minute 30G
Complete the story missions in less than 30 hours.

Key To The City 100G
Achieve 100% in "Game progress" statistic.

Teamplayer 10G
Kill 5 players who are not in your team, in any ranked multiplayer team game.

Cut Your Teeth 5G
Earn a personal rank promotion in multiplayer

Join The Midnight Club 10G
Win a ranked multiplayer race without damaging your vehicle too much and with damaged enabled.

Fly The Co-op 15G
Beat our time in ranked versions of "Deal Breaker", "Hangman's NOOSE" and "Bomb da Base II".

Take It For The Team 10G
Be on the winning team in all ranked multiplayer team games.

Top Of The Food Chain 10G
Kill 20 players with a pistol in a ranked multiplayer deathmatch.

Top The Midnight Club 20G
Come first in 20 different ranked standard multiplayer races.

Wanted 20G
Achieve the highest personal rank in multiplayer.

Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic 30G
Win all ranked multiplayer variations, all races and "Cops 'n Crooks", as both sides.

Why are so many people bashing the Liberty Key Minute achievement? No one said you have to get this the first time you play through the game.

IMO it's the exact same as having achievements that require you to play numerous difficulties without the difficulties stacking. *shrug*

People need to stop jumping to conclusions on everything.

There is no way in hell these are the actual achievement descriptions. You can tell by the weird grammar, a lot of them don't make sense, and are way too close to prior games.

Wait for the actual descriptions, then make your lame comments. :)

....For fuck sake. These better not be the real ones, some of us enjoy maxing out games and with retarded achievements like that it's just not ever possible, ruins part of the game for me. I'd hope it's at least like the virus achievos, it spreads from player to player.

And people actually think that these supposed 'leaked' descriptions posted by some random forum poster could possibly be legit? I'm pretty sure Rockstar knows English at the least.

Most of the descriptions look like they were written by those guys that write spam emails, clearly not native english speakers.

Many others don't make sense, like this one:
"Complete a taxi ride without skipping from one island to another."

Consider this rumor debunked.

I kind of like the Rockstar one. In a way it's so exclusive it becomes sort of like the Recon armor in Halo.

With this and the Key to the City debacle it makes me think a new type of achievement that doesn't factor into the overall total wouldn't be so bad. So say you didn't have the achievement, you can still max out your points. These could be sort of like "awards" given out for things.

My problem is it's not really..an achievement as such more of a "good job! YOU GOT LUCKY!" thing, i didn't like Halos because of the luck elements.

It wont ruin GTA for me, I've owned every GTA game to exist with the acception of the PSP ones but i do not like it when Devs do this, it isn't very fair on us achievo whores. :P

The devs didn't do this. These descriptions are just made up by some random guy. What the hell do you not understand about that? Just like your posts about Fable 2 co-op and many of your other comments. Always completely senseless, ignorant, and pessimistic. You'd be better off posting on GameTrailers forums, X3F has very high standards that you simply do not meet good sir.

SadisticHam's comment was hardly pessimistic and I can totally understand wanting sensible achievements that can be pulled off if you have the skill rather than if you're in the right time at the right place.

Wanting to complete a game 100% is hardly the mark of an achievement whore (having Avatar The Last Airbender on your played games list is). I can see wanting to add in those sort of achievements that are like prizes for "being the first 10 to fully complete the game" or "kill a Rockstar employee" or anything of the sort but when they prevent you from being able to finish a game in its entirety, it does kind of ruin the experience a small bit.

Your "proof" is just like this list not at all 100% fact, when you can get past your own ego to see it from both sides perhaps you'll realize that. For now I'll take it as the list is real, because i have very little reason to believe otherwise and comment on it so, because you know, that's why these articles have a comments section to *discuss* the topic at hand.

meh, achievements are lame...if and I'm sure it will have cheats, which is the best way to play it, you cannot cheat and still get these which is why I'm buying it on PS3. I will not pay $60 for one of the best cheat franchise games ever created and then not cheat. Screw that.

Rofl, so for the sake of a VIRAL achievement (if this is indeed true), and missing out on a whole 10 points, you'll get it on the PS3? I guess the exclusive episodic content (which is apparently significant in content) means nothing to you? Don't forget, they'll come with some new achievements as well, if you're an achievement whore.

And not getting the game because you wont be able to obtain the achievements while having cheats activated? Well, let me just enlighten you - you wont be able to obtain any achievements on the PS3 version regardless.

will be viral,just like the one in guitar hero where you have to beat a dev, and in burnout paradise, and a few other games. It'sno biggy, with a game this huge that achievement will spread quite fast.
