COD4 DLC delayed until the 10th, April Fools?

Considering the day that it is, we would usually have immediately discarded this news had it not come right from the official Game of the Year site. That site is now listing the Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack for release on April 10th, rather than the previously scheduled date of April 3rd. This could just be Infinity Ward using the date to give its audience a bit of a scare at April Fools' expense, as the other official site has no date at all for the DLC, nor news about its delay. Combined with the fact that the GOTY edition is still set to release on the third, and the fact that the GOTY site doesn't appear to have full functionality, it seems unlikely that this news is accurate. Though of course there is still that possibility, as this is a rather humorless joke and we like to think that Infinity Ward is capable of something much funnier.

I don't think it's a joke because the maps are being released on the PSN on April 17th. An April 10th release on the marketplace makes sense as they more than likely want to see how many GotY Editions will sell in the next week and a half. Either that or they change the dates for a simultaneous release for PS3 and 360.

I'm pretty sure that it has been delayed from their announced date. I saw something on one of the other news sites (kotaku maybe?) for an April 10 release. Disappointment abounds.

well its not a joke folks. I think that its good that they may be free now, but I am pissed that they are delayed a week. I took back Rainbow Vegas 2 because I beat it and thought it was garbage. Now the maps come out on the 10th and GTA 4 comes out the 29th. that is 19 days of playing the maps. I think that is was unfair to charge Us, the people who helped make COD4 game of the year, and let the people who are just now buying it get the maps for free. so on one point i agree, but on the other hand i would rather pay for them and have them tomorrow. I know that is confusing. Sorry. I am pissed at infinity ward.

Saw a news story this morning (3rd) stating that the maps WILL be available either tonight or early tomorrow morning (Fri).
Some bloke from IW said that the GOTY site had messed up.

Why not link the "news story" you saw? I'm having troubling believing the gameoftheyear.callofduty.com posting is wrong.
As for the "dollah bills, yo" dude... take a deep breath and get some oxygen to that boy-band (4 or 5 members?) of cells you call a brain. Of course they want to make money, and they're not going to release something if it's not ready to avoid LOSING money.
