Another Puzzle Game for XBLA: Buku Sudoku

One wonders where all these XBLA puzzle games come from, especially when there is still so many issues surrounding the content and organization of the Live Arcade. Still, that doesn't stop more developers from creating and releasing them, and the next game to make the jump is Sudoku, or rather Buku Sudoku. If you've ever played a digital version of the game you know what to expect here, with custom modes, themes and more. The developer does have plans for DLC though, so they apparently see this as doing somewhat well. The achievement list for this one can be found after the break.

Achievements

Beat the Basics-Complete lessons 1-5 in tutorial 1 and lessons 1-3 in tutorial 2. (10 points)

Time Bandit-Beat the time limit for 10 puzzles in Timed mode. (15 points)

Sampler-Complete 1 puzzle in each of the 3 difficulties. (10 points)

Super Sizes-Beat a puzzle in each grid size: 6x6, 8x8, 9x9 and 12x12. (20 points)

Natural-Solve 10 puzzles with autopencil and show errors off. (10 points)

Friend and Foe-Complete 1 puzzle in Co-op, Team Battle and Duel in Xbox Live mode. (10 points)

Buku Bank-Earn 2,500,000 Buku Score any way you want. (10 points)

Too Fast-Complete a single-player 9x9 puzzle in 1 minute and 20 seconds. Hint: you can turn autopencil on. (20 points)

Master-Complete 200 puzzles in total across the game. (20 points)

Wired-Complete 20 games over Xbox Live. (20 points)

Grand Master-Earn 10,000,000 Buku Score any way you want. (30 points)

Socialite-Complete 25 Multiplayer Games, in either Online or Local Multiplayer game play. (25 points)

Cool. I can pick up my morning newspaper, coincidentally it comes every single morning, and play the daily sudoku game contained within it's pages... all without leaving my doorstep.

Cool. I can put in a few tokens every year or so at a Japanese arcade and I can finally get some authentic DoDonPachi... all after a 13 hour flight and xxxxxxxxx amount of currency exchange.

Can you play on Live with co-op or competitive online play? Can you earn Achievements?

Hey, I can play baseball on any field I like, too - but I still bought MLB 2K8...

I think you misunderstood my comment.

It was commentary that another meh game I can get everywhere else is coming to Xbox 360, after learning that DoDonPachi Dai-Oh-Jou (the greatest SHMUP, IMO), isn't being allowed on the service.

This is what we get instead of ports and remakes. Casual games. Why can't MS realize that their 360 userbase can be more than one demographic at a time???

One game a week is just stupid. Let's hope that the spring dashboard update brings a major revamp to the XBLA interface. Maybe with a non-shit UI, Microsoft wouldn't have to restrict the XBLA market to a trickle of weekly releases.

Too bad knowing MS, it'll take until the next xbox for them to figure it out...
