Puzzle Quest DLC: Revenge of the Plague Lord

When the new content for Bejewe - er, we mean Puzzle Quest, was originally announced, it was simply a nameless, detail-less waif. Now it's back with a player-created name and the full list of it's contents. Submitted by A. Puchniarz of Pasadena, CA, the pack is to be known as Revenge of the Plague Lord. The DLC will contain four new classes: Bard, Rogue, Ranger and Warlock. As well as an expansion to the Southern Map that in itself contains over 25 quests, 50 spells, and 40 items, plus a host of new monsters, bosses and more. The story to the expansion has to do with "Antharg, the Lord of Plague and brother to the infamous Lord Bane." But as of now, we have no idea when you'll get to meet Antharg, as D3 was so excited about their DLC that they just couldn't give us anything on the release other than "Spring 2008."

I submitted "Scourge of the Plague Lord". >:( And one of the runner-ups had "Scourge" in the title.

PuzzleQuest is the second best RPG on the Xbox 360.

If not, seriously man, I dunno about your tastes, but I enjoyed Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Oblivion, Enchanted Arms (no joke), and even Blue Dragon (though I couldn't finish it) more than Puzzle Quest.

But then I played it through on DS first.

Not to mention how long ago I played Bejeweled...

Only one of those games is better than PuzzleQuest. The rest are good, but not as good as PuzzleQuest.

I think most people have played Bejeweled before Puzzle Quest, but that doesn't really defeat the fact that the rest of the game is very innovative as far as puzzle titles go. I think it's a mistake to dismiss it simply based on the fact that you match colored objects.

First, respect for Etchasketchist (seriously), but PQ is *not* an RPG. It's a puzzle game with neat customization options, but not an RPG. It's the best *puzzle* game on 360, hands down, though.

C'mon Terrance. Are you really trying to knock PQ for having the Bejewled game play mechanic at it's core?

Last time I check Bejewled didn't have a versus mode, persistent/upgradable characters, and a story. Not mention you can actually use strategy in PQ. (If you don't want to match 3 you don't have to, just attack, etc.)

Next time you right an article on Halo I want you to start it off like this: "When the new content for Doom- er, Quake - er, Half life -er, we mean Halo, was ..."
See how far that gets you.

Au Contraire. Puzzle Quest is an RPG. It has quests, spells, items, armor, weapons, a non-linear story line featuring a cast of NPCs, leveling up, character classes, party members and mounts. You can even take over towns and collect taxes. Lumines is "a puzzle game with neat customization options". Puzzle Quest is a role-playing game.

I was playing Puzzle Quest during the Live downtime and now it says it's still just a trial version so I can;t level up or open new areas. I've tried DL'ing it again and it still says trial version. I think I'm going to have to delete my game and download it fresh so I'll lose my character. Great.
