Avenged Sevenfold is April's Artist of the Month

Leaving behind memories of Bow Wow and Omarion, we're heading into a new musical direction with Xbox.com's Artist of the Month series where, for the month of April, Avenged Sevenfold has been awarded the monthly crown.

Avenged Sevenfold's Artist of the Month honors come riding on the heels of the October 2007 "celebrated" release of their self titled Avenged Sevenfold album which ultimately results in, for a limited time, a free Avenged Sevenfold music video download off the Xbox Live Marketplace. That's it kids, Avenged Sevenfold is your April Artist of the Month. Enjoy.

I met these guys back when they only had Sounding the 7th Trumpet and were opening for Shadows Fall. They were pretty cool back then. More power to them for their success but can't say I really listen to their stuff any more.

Again, not the best but I rather hear them then Flow Rida.

honestly, everytime any band appears on this site, all i hear is 'what about the good music' and 'this band sucks'.

I have wanted this since artist of the month came out, I like this band more of their old stuff, and Fear and loathing inspired Bat Country. but yeah this makes the news for me.

I saw them perform one song at the Taste Of Chaos tour about one week ago (on the 6th to be exact). My friend and I saw them perform their opening song just so we could see their stage and that was it. I can't stand their music or M. Shadows. They also got booed quite a bit at Ozzfest 2006 in Columbus, OH. I don't like their music at all. That is alright though as there are a bunch of artists that I don't like.

The thing that I hate about Avenged Sevenfold is that they try to play themselves off as being a metal band while trying to please the emo, goth, and generic MTV crowds. I don't understand why they are trying to please everyone. Just stick to being yourself. That and don't try to pose yourself off as being something that you aren't. Avenged Sevenfold aren't metal.
