Infogrames: Alone in the Dark sales to hit 2-3 million

Infogrames head honcho David Gardners told Reuters that they expect Alone in the Dark to sell two to three million copies, ultimately making it a profitable venture. "We want to stop losing money," said Gardners and that the "number one goal is to get a business plan together that gets us to a break-even level." Which, we must admit, is quite the solid goal. Hopefully, Infogrames can release an enjoyable Alone in the Dark experience and somehow move a massive amount of copies through retail. Selling three million video games is no easy task.

it looks pretty cool. im not overly bothered about it, and i don't think any of my friends are, even though we are avid resi and silent hill fans, and i have had a few other alone in the dark games on my ps1.
can't see it selling too well.

Considering it's hitting everything this doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility. At least it looks good.

I'm much more excited for this than GTA IV.

No, i'm not kidding, man. Alone In The Dark looks incredible! The real-world physics in the game sold me. If you don't believe me, go check the two tech demos on Live right now under Game Videos.
It's been far far too long since the survival horror genre has presented us with a great year of titles, and I can't wait to sink into this title.
Furthermore my most wanted game for this whole year is Silent Hill V.. well surpassing GTA IV and Gears 2.
I'll get bored of GTA IV well before I come close to finishing it, as I have with all of the other GTA titles in the past. Still buying it, tho.

I concur, the GTA games are way overrated. Alone in the Dark looks like a genuinely thrilling and unique experience. I'm a big fan of the series and this game looks fantastic with visuals, scale, and innovation. I'm proudly wearing my Alone in the Dark shirt eagerly waiting to play it!

Though it is intriguing and looks really interesting, I think that saying 2-3 million sold may be going overboard just a bit.
However, what was the time frame? If its just "Fiscal year 08 (or whatever we're on now)" or something like that, perhaps it has a chance.

"We want to stop losing money," said Gardners and that the "number one goal is to get a business plan together that gets us to a break-even level."
How can a company spokesperson say that with a straight face? "I'd like to actually earn my paycheck by making a product that doesn't cause my company to lose money. Our number two goal is to breathe air, and, if time permits, eat food."
What a horribly useless statement, and CEO
