While
other developers are having trouble staying afloat, the Scottish crew over at Realtime Worlds seem to be doing something right, because today they
announced that they've secured an additional $50 million. The $50 million was put up by various investment firms and will be used towards growth and expansion of the company as they continue to to turn the development gears on their latest project,
All Points Bulletin. Congrats to Realtime Worlds and to a super successful money raising effort. So ... umm, can we haz
Crackdown 2 now?

i would love to see a crackdown.....i am probably the only person who bought crackdown for crackdown rather then for the halo 3 beta......i also enjoyed crackdown way more then halo 3.
GalileoAce @ Apr 14th 2008 12:26PM
Nah, not the only person. I, too, bought Crackdown for Crackdown. The H3ß was gravy.
xenocidic @ Apr 14th 2008 12:24PM
I bought Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta - but played it and loved it for Crackdown.
I only played the H3 beta once or twice, heh.
Looking forward to APB.
Lewis @ Apr 14th 2008 12:48PM
I bought crackdown cuz i found it at my local store for $20 :)
Royale @ Apr 14th 2008 3:18PM
I rented crackdown for the Halo beta and ending up buying crackdown after I had to return it.
Fun as hell. If you haven't played it, it can be picked up very cheap.
Jer @ Apr 15th 2008 9:43AM
Crackdown was the game that originally sold me on the 360. Bring on the sequels.
CharleyTony @ Apr 14th 2008 12:08PM
yeah crackdown 2 please with a side of story/plot if its possible
for dessert: a final boss tht has about the same super powers as you (corrupted agent maybe?)
Dick @ Apr 14th 2008 2:06PM
I guess you didn't dig on/understand the whole "New World Order/Gangs being unleashed by the government only to be beaten down by the same government later on" story.
I don't know how we missed it ; )
F'real though, I liked the story of crackdown, not sure if Crackdown 2 would be a similar thing, or maybe (a la prototype?) in the vein of a previously controlled superhuman cop thing breaks free and gets pissed off over the immorality of cloning dudes to super jack em up and take on an unsuspecting populace in a war where the government is controlling _ insert Sean Connery voice here_ and playing both sides.
Wilson @ Apr 14th 2008 12:19PM
Now go and make Crackdown 2! I want to give you my money too!
D Boy Flex @ Apr 14th 2008 12:21PM
I liked crackdown. They just need to further the story a bit more and actually have one. The missions became repetitive after a few. The agility and hidden orbs added a lot as that took a lot of time to find them all. Visually I enjoyed the game and would certainly buy a part 2, but not likely until it drops in price. I did not use CD for the beta. I bought it for what it is, or was.

Crackdown was a really good game, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected. I rented it and beat it back when it came out, but I just found it at Target for $15 on clearance, so I finally bought it.
A sequel to Crackdown would be a must-own for me.
Perno @ Apr 14th 2008 12:35PM
Never played Crackdown...yet.
But I'm jazzed for this APB, what a great idea! Any idea what year it's coming out?
pwarren4 @ Apr 14th 2008 12:51PM

Blue_Falcon @ Apr 14th 2008 1:17PM
I bought Crackdown for Crackdown.
I actually never played the Halo 3 beta.
In fact, I've never played Halo 3, period.
Or Halo, in general, for that matter.
Vcize @ Apr 14th 2008 1:30PM
I hope that Halo 4 comes with a Crackdown 2 Beta.
Dick @ Apr 14th 2008 2:08PM
LOL

dylan @ Apr 14th 2008 1:37PM
I just picked up crackdown again... still fun.
Dick @ Apr 14th 2008 2:07PM

"New World Order/Gangs being unleashed by the government only to be beaten down by the same government later on"

Crackdown: Dicks Notes

I question how 'good' the story was because I have a serious problem with denouement being delivered seconds before the credits roll. If you are planning on a sequel sure, I guess you could end it that way. It worked for Empire Strikes Back but that had two whole movies leading up to that point.
As it stood, you played for hours knowing you were a mutant cop and little else. You would get a voice over telling you this is a bad person kill her. Gooood...now let me tell you a 10 second recap of the next target. Now go kill them.
It had a very weak story, I would like to know more about the main character.
As for the gameplay, I WOULD like a boss that was more difficult than the rest of his gang. I never got that feeling. You're long range weapons were so strong that you often didn't need to get near them to take them out.
Keep in mind, I loved the game. Jumping from building to building was great.
Dick @ Apr 14th 2008 3:12PM
I agree with you Neon,
But I liked the way it didn't tell you what was happening, and didn't drop many hints along the way. It was a complete 180, since you spent the last X # of hours playing as the ultimate authority figure, and suddenly, you realized you were the puppet of a horrific totalitarian govt that would willingly inflict damage to itself and its society for the sake of furthering its own internal security goals.
Sounds eerily similar to events from 1938/2001...
ZEBRA NINER @ Apr 14th 2008 2:38PM
Yes, Crackdown was so much fun. I've played that on co-op so much, it is a great game. Crackdown 2 would be fantastic. 4 player co-op would be nice too.
ccc @ Apr 14th 2008 4:23PM
For the record, I didn't buy Crackdown until the Halo beta was over.
Secondly, With all that dough you just got RTW, hows about making the Crackdown content free now huh?
Zeus.:God @ Apr 14th 2008 4:58PM
Oh God, there were so many fun things to do in the first game... My favorite was rock crawling in the little jeeps and shit
Boff @ Apr 15th 2008 5:16AM
So it wasn't just me then!!
Bought the DLC and that little buggy is the best thing ever!
I've spent countless hours in co-op with a mate seeing who could climb the steepest rocks and hills!
And yeah, Crackdown 2 please. (After APB is finished of course)
