GTAIV Social Club launch pushed back to Thur.

For all the Grand Theft Auto IV fanboys who were eagerly awaiting their chance to get their Social Club pre-registration done today, we're sad to report that such a task will not be possible. According to the newly updated flash on GTAIV's official Social Club website, the launch date has moved from April 15th to this Thursday, April 17th. It isn't a huge delay, but when we're talking about any new GTAIV content or experiences, an hour seems like an eternity. Hopefully we'll be able to survive without the Social Club for the next few days ... we must stay strong for the kids.

I can handle this. I won't be able to handle a delay in the actual game's release. I'll have to create a self enduced coma on myself.

hahaha, got confused for a sec by the US way of writing dates, thought it was saying the 4th day of the 17th month (Jectrember). But then I realised that I was an idiot.

I'd completely forgotten about this so can't say I'm overly frustrated, however I have a strange feeling of loss non the less but I'm sure I can wait till thursday (I'm waiting for a bunch of other stuff through the post so it'll just add to my general feeling of frustration at not having any of the things I'm excited about, grrr)

Grrrrrr...i hate game announcements during finals. they take away from my study time but i can't resist not looking into them. I know the Social Club is going to be HUGE so I'll definitely have to check it out...lol

I hear ya Dj, this game releases just a few days before I start all my finals, so after we finish up ours we should dominate some multiplayer together.

I had no idea it was originally scheduled for today, so no big deal. I hope the pre-registration is more than just "fill out this form and get a splash screen returned saying 'Coming 4.29.08'" or something like that. Any little bit of information to feed my hunger would be much appreciated. Even a stupid downloadable wallpaper or something would be nice.

Do we even know the full extent of the Social Club? Will it only track stats, or will it have forums and stuff? I understand it is supposedly based on Bungie.net, but R* isn't the type of company that just straight out copies somebody else's stuff.
