H3 Legendary Play & Win and downloads too

As we continue our April 15th Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack news bonanza, we thought it'd be nice of us to inform you about a few other Legendary promotional goodies. Like free downloads. If you can spot a Legendary Map Pack banner on the XBLM, click it and you'll be treated to a free dashboard theme-o-greatness. If gamer pictures are more your thing, you can grab the super hawt Legendary gamer picture (previewed above) via the XBLM as well. That gamer picture plays two rolls and will also enter you into the special Play & Win sweepstakes that begins April 25th where, if you win, you can walk away with arm-loads of Halo 3 swag. Start downloading and get registered, because it's (unofficially) Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack day!

I bet Infinity Ward is monitoring the LIVE situation today. Odds are they'll find that it won't be nearly as borked as it was when the Variety Map Pack came out, and they'll laugh..

If Friday the 4th was like a Black Friday, then tonight might just end up feeling like a mattress store on any given Tuesday afternoon.

Do any readers still play Halo 3 with their friends?

The COD fanboys just keep getting better and better....Who gives a shat about the LIVE status situation...I'm just glad I can actually play the maps I paid for.

At least there's a consistent playlist to play the new Halo maps.

And I have plenty of friends who play Halo 3 more than CoD4. With the forge and better Custom Games options you get more for money on these maps than the CoD4 ones.(Both shouldn't be $10 imo though)

When I click on the ad all it mentions are gamerpics that only gold members can download and my american account is a silver one. Where's the theme?

The theme is on one of the banners, which I have yet to see, but if you have a Silver account, you'll have to wait a week to get the pic or theme anyways.

Why is the theme 'banner-exclusive'? Are Microsoft petty'ing out for this one too? That's cheap. Real cheap from a company who has gazzlion dollars. Who the fcuk would hang around the marketplace to get the theme? Just make it available like normal.

The Fine Print:

It registers you but you must "play an online multiplayer match of Halo 3 over Xbox LIVE between April 25-27, 2008" on one of the new maps to be eligible to win.

That means if you don't get the map pack or play on those days then you can't win.
