Since we know that 94.8% of all Xbox Live users adore Microsoft's
Xbox Originals program (it's a scientifically proven fact), we know there's a good chance that you'll be uber excited to hear that two new titles will be added to the catalog next week. On Monday, April 21st, both Ubisoft's
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and
Metal Arms: Glitch In The System will be available for purchase off the XBLM for the standard 1200 Microsoft point price. So ... yup, more Xbox Originals titles next week ... what more
achievement complaining can be said?

Chaos Theory was such a good game. I still have it on disc though.

I still don't see Microsoft's angle on this. I mean...$15 for an Xbox 1 game that you could get for $5 in the store used and it doesn't take up a huge amount of space on your hard drive. Maybe if they lowered the price to $5 and the price of their 120 GB hard drive to $50 they'd get a better response.

There's not much to consider when it comes to their reasoning. They get no money for used games. They get money for downloadable games that cost them no money in terms of manufacturing, middlemen or additional marketing.
Several of the ones listed so far are not always easy to find for $5 anymore. You go with eBay then you're up to $10. Some people also just like the instant gratification.
Personally, I think they deserve some applause for efforts to put some games on here that are not consumer darlings. Dreamfall, Indigo Prophecy, Psyconauts and Metal Arms are all great games that were largely ignored on the Xbox and they're given a second life here. All of the $5 resales in the world don't give that sort of push.

Have to agree with Josh. =|

Finally, Metal Arms! I've been waiting a long time for that to come to Originals. I wonder if they'll have some free themes/gamer pics to go along with it.
Jim Perry @ Apr 15th 2008 3:17PM
Metal Arms rocked...
I still own it. I wonder if it is BC?
boxmyth @ Apr 15th 2008 4:58PM
Yes, Metal Arms is BC. Fantastic game, I just wish it had a widescreen mode (it runs in progressive at least).
Gemini Ace @ Apr 15th 2008 3:10PM
Insert standard "no achievement no sale" answer here.
Van Faulk @ Apr 15th 2008 3:16PM
Metal Arms? Fuck yeah. Consider it bought.
ccc @ Apr 15th 2008 3:44PM
Achievementless piles of shit.
The sub title to Metal Arms fits the name of the Xbox Original Program better.
A Glitch in the system.

Wondering if CT can be played online? Just want it for the co-op and MP.
ManicBomber @ Apr 15th 2008 8:27PM
The coop works, sort of. Last time I tried there seemed to be way too many disconnects.
todd @ Apr 15th 2008 8:29PM
You have it already? I mean the XBL version, co-op and MP, not all the orig games worked online I thought.
morphs @ Apr 16th 2008 9:07AM
I'd get Chaos Theory if it had online multiplayer.
