GH: Aerosmith: Same old Les Paul, new faceplate

Activision recently sent word about Guitar Hero: Aerosmith's bundle offer and for everyone who was hoping for a brand new wireless guitar peripheral, we have the enjoyably-twisted honor of crushing your fragile guitar dreams. How it's laid out, with any $99 Guitar Hero: Aerosmith bundle purchase you'll receive the game, a special Aerosmith tour book and a wireless Gibson Les Paul guitar controller as was bundled with GHIII. But with a special red Aerosmith faceplate. No new guitar technology, just a new faceplate. We aren't sure if we're supposed to feel cheated or angry at ourselves for expecting something entirely new. Humph to it all.

It would be nice if they would redesign the guitar to get rid of that useless removable neck. I had to hard-wire my neck to the guitar to get it actually working more than half the time.

The only thing that comes to my mind is: Meh.

Really, I'd rather have some DLC content for GHIII, but if they don't want my money, it's ok, Rock Band will take it just fine.

If it aint broke don't fix it.

GH3 guitar is the best guitar peripheral out of all the guitar hero/rb games. Including the mighty GH2 controller.

agreed. its the best guitar periph yet.

but if it IS broke (like mine is), they wont fix it. nor will they offer to sell it individually without the game bundled.

for a game that offers a local multiplayer mode, this makes no sense at all.

Yep, the wireless Les Paul is already great. Maybe I'll actually pick the game-only up when it gets cheap on ebay now since I won't feel like I'm missing out on something without getting the new guitar.

I was lucky to get crappy guitars with my GH3 bundle. I never could seem to get one to work consistantly (maybe I rock too hard) so I returned it to get the wired guitar. Also, I actually like the RB guitar, it is dufferent and a bit harder in my opinion, but fun none the less. The removeable neck thing was a bad idea, at least in my experience with it.
