WRUP: a week and a half to go edition

Okay, let's face it: whatever we're playing right now, we're not really playing it. No, we're just going through the motions. The controller rumbles, the screen flickers and the speakers belt out explosions, but inside there is only one recurrent thought: this isn't Grand Theft Auto IV. It's not like it's any particular games fault. After all, no game -- with one obvious exception -- is Grand Theft Auto IV. So, we shall sit and play and dream. And yes, next week's WRUP will likely be titled "4 days to go edition."

So, what will you be (pretending) to play this weekend?

I'll be tryin out that Iron Man demo, then some assassin's creed. that's about it, Since the rest of my day will be spent at NY Comic Con

Finish up Condemned: Criminal Origins, squeezing the cheevz. Then open up Condemned 2 and ride that out until GTA.

Working the co-op on AO2 and you know I have to get some COD time in. Plus, cheevos... for cheevos sake.

Most likely RainbowSix: Vegas 2 and possibly finishing up Doom. A little Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword as well...

I'll be playing Condemned a little bit more and then heading to Burnout Paradise. I still need to head back to Universe at War on the PC as well. I'm also planning to head back to Hitman as I only did one basic play through back in the day. I'm just going back and getting more cheevos from the games I own.

I've become obesessed with moving up the X3F leaderboard. I crave to hit the top 50.

Honestly i haven't played my 360 in a couple weeks and wont till GTAIV. Honestly its true i go through the motions but i am not interested.

Well, unless my internet comes back up, ill be playing Halo 3 trying to finish up the campaign on that, sorry guys, i know im not as deep into it as you guys are. Maybe ill even get to start Assasins Creed, oooh, sorry about that one also.

On another note im not really looking forward to GTA, never gotten into the franchise, ive been reading the forums and everyone says its kind of lame. So ill skip that maybe get Viking and my COD4 (that i got for 35 bucks thanks to you guys) should be in this weekend.

Man, this post hit me right in the gut. Dead on description of the Pre-GTA IV video game malaise.

I took my time getting around to dl'ing the Bring Down the Sky Mass Effect stuff so I could extend the magic of new games and content;
yet still beat the hell out of it in 45 mins., so I guess I can play it again and do the other ending or what have you.

I can't touch Halo til the new maps are free.

Gears can kiss my butt til GoW 2 for all I care.

OMG this is exactly how i feel. Nothing entertains me, well DeadRising still does, but thats because I LOVE killing zombies. All i can think of is how much better GTAIV will be then the game im playing now.

Well, my 360 died on me, again.

It can no longer read disc anymore but I a, still able to play digital games and I have full dashboard functionality.

A coffin is inbound and yes MS is fixing the problem for free.

So this week I'll be playing, Ikaruga, Carcassonne, Zuma, Pokersmash and maybe some N+.

haha... i had to comment because your post is so true. I am playing COD4 with the new maps but not really feeling it, but I didn't even get the new Halo 3 maps because I knew I wouldn't probably be touching them after the 29th until they are free anyways.

Lost Odyssey, R6V2 (single player) and COD4 multiplayer for me. All those still have quite a bit of my attention I must admit, though there is that looming GTAIV in the back of my mind..
