Xbox A-Live and kicking again
Well, it only took two days after the initial update but Xbox Live seems to be back to normal again. According to the support page on Xbox.com the service is fully functional and thank goodness!Xbox Live is sure to be tested this Tuesday when Grand Theft Auto IV hits store shelves. Will the service be up to the task? We'd like to think the tech ninjas at Microsoft have been preparing for this very situation, but don't ask us to put money on it. What? Gambling is wrong, that's why.

I strongly suspect there will be widespread outages and downtime on tuesday. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I call 'em how I see 'em.

Whoa one vote for "Still giving me problems" as of now... :/
Lewis @ Apr 24th 2008 4:06PM
nm haha
Muffin_man @ Apr 24th 2008 4:11PM
I never even had any problems anyway.
ZEBRA NINER @ Apr 24th 2008 4:12PM
It's fine... JUST FINE. :) Never had any problems. Actually, it's so good that I would pay double! ;)
diamondxp @ Apr 24th 2008 4:19PM
Thank you Major Nelson.
mcwattersm @ Apr 24th 2008 4:20PM
That mean you want to renew my yearly subscription?
Raheem @ Apr 24th 2008 4:20PM
So, no spring update, then?
Raheem @ Apr 24th 2008 4:30PM
Can't get on Live at all.
STD Spanky @ Apr 24th 2008 9:02PM
They really should have at least given us a little info about spring update by now. I could really use voice-chat that isn't just one-on-one.
Live keeps giving me issues telling me I'm not signed in, even if I'm already in a voice chat and friends show as online.
Man I wish I could afford GTA come tuesday, it makes me a sad panda
XchonoX @ Apr 26th 2008 8:08AM
im gettin the same issue, have you got yours working?
Philip (Fernando Rocker Defence Force) @ Apr 24th 2008 4:44PM
I never had problems, I guess some of you don't love your 360 enough. I hug it every day.

I highly doubt that 20% are really having problems with Xbox Live. That kind of poll is highly susceptible to PS3 fanboys.
Knight Marquise @ Apr 24th 2008 4:55PM
Agreed.
JJ @ Apr 24th 2008 4:58PM
I had problems with mine going up and down for 3 days, but as of 8pm last night i seemed to be able to connect with regularity.
webster1990 @ Apr 24th 2008 4:57PM
i only just started to get problems today.
i can't get into matchmaking on halo, or even play custom games with my friends.
JJ @ Apr 24th 2008 4:58PM
who knows it COULD be 20%... after all it was severe enough that it was reported in several outlets, so its not just a minor think situated to one small locale.
But then it may not be that many either. Still, you would think this would happen less and less as time went on.
curtisbyers @ Apr 24th 2008 5:02PM
Does anyone else think this could've been an upgrade to handle some of the GTA IV load?
Andrew @ Apr 24th 2008 5:25PM
The 8 hour scheduled downtime was, I'm sure. This unplanned downtime seems like an undesired effect of the scheduled downtime.
Aero @ Apr 24th 2008 6:09PM
At least GTA IV is primarily a single player game, so if Xbox Live goes down it won't be as annoying as trying to play new Xbox Live games over Christmas.
Boff @ Apr 25th 2008 4:39AM
Absolutely, I'll be doing the singleplayer story first anyway so hopefully by the time I try out multiplayer any issues with Live would have been resolved.
That's if I can find a copy on Tuesday :o(
Arno @ Apr 24th 2008 6:30PM
Where's the "Who Cares?" option?
I honestly don't.
lantus @ Apr 24th 2008 6:44PM
Still giving me problems, but it's better than it was, I almost had a good game of Call of Duty 4.
stinger503 @ Apr 24th 2008 8:50PM
Like I said before it was because I didn't have my Xbox with me. Now it is with me and Live is working. Your welcome ;)
