Community Content: City of the Dead Edition
Each week, X3F showcases the best in Halo 3 downloads with Community Content. To find out how to set up your Bungie.net account, click here. Submit your own ideas at: comcon [AT] xbox360fanboy [DOT] com
This week's Community Content is an Infection gametype on a variant of Ghost Town. In Dead City, human players must survive for five minutes as they wait for emergency evacuation from a contaminated village. Utilizing two bases connected by a barricaded catwalk, humans have few weapons at their disposal as they fight to stay alive.
Dead City is unique because it utilizes a day and night cycle. Using the newly added filters in Halo 3, the map changes from Day to dusk to dawn. As it gets more and more difficult to see the tension to survive the winding clock rises. Check out Dead City today!

Details from the Creator
This is an Infection Holdout map which consists of Humans defending two buildings which are connected via catwalk. You are part of ETS (Emergency Transmission Squad) who were sent to investigate the Contamination Alert send out a week before. Your team finds the contamination has leaked into the main water source and the NIV Virus had already spread throughout the surrounding area. The goal of the game is to surviving as a team, until evac. can arrive (5 Minutes.).
Map Evolution
The map now evolves as the game progresses, but only so slightly. Inside the base after nightfall, the greenhouse has only one path to the bottom instead of two. A fusion coil spawns right behind a doorway; partly to light the way, and partly as a deadly trap.
Map: Dead City
Gametype: Holdout

This is the type of map mod and Gametype that should be featured on Community Content. Past maps have seemed creative but not all that practical. This map looks as if it was completely made for this one gametype and I like that.
Thanks, X3F

Not a big zombie fan. Looks neat, though.

Oh, this looks nice...except I can't play it because RANDOMLY my Halo 3 disk has a big crack in the plastic. It's weird because it's been sitting in my 360 for a week with no one touching it because I've had tests. Now I have to give Micro my disk and $20 and wait a few weeks before the magic happens. Meh.
amart @ Apr 26th 2008 3:32AM
haha sucks for you, my disk is fine and safe in its case :P::D
sucker

I did the exact same thing to one of my friends who's H3 disk cracked too. I guess what goes around...
Lol.
amart @ Apr 26th 2008 2:43PM

I think OXM featured this variant in their April issue as well (or if not this one, a very similar one). I don't play much Infection (Zombie), but this one looks pretty fun.

awsome!

This is the tightest map I've ever seen.
