X-Play: Xbox Live Orientation

Xbox Live gets us mad. We don't mean because of the dips in service that happen from time to time, we don't mean some of the exorbitantly priced content; we mean the people. We love people, but on Xbox Live social normality is thrown out the window as some gamers just need to turn on that hate. We always thought it was because some people (not all, but you've met these people too) are just straight up jerkfaces (see also, Asshats) but apparently some gamers were just introduced to Live via this orientation video.

X-Play created a (sometimes) funny video that's meant to shine light on the personalities of Xbox Live and how the hate came to be. Video's embedded after the jump due to some NSFW language and crude humor, but remember the whole thing is a gag and is meant to have you shake your head in both understanding and disgust because it's pretty accurate. Unfortunately.

I think it would be kick ass to have something like this streamed directly to someone's 360 when they are signing up, I'm tired of meeting douchebags on LIVE.

Lol, a lot of times XPlay's skits are really funny. I loved the one about The Pokemon kid "Billychu", and the "This is Yu-Gi-Oh town motherf****er!!" part of it.

Also, "XPlay Cops" is hilarious, with Kratos, Zelda and such. Good stuff.

Xbox Live is actually much worse than this skit portrays. There was not enough racism in this video to make it realistic... there were also no high-pitched-voice-having thirteen-year-olds screeching and singing into their mics.

Be grateful you have that and not what we have in the US. Ninja Warrior is cool and all, but the only two things worth watching here are X-Play, AOTS, and Ninja Warrior. In fact, I can only watch AOTS if Kevin is hosting that particular day. Don't you guys have Judgment Day or Reviews On The Run as it is called now?

I watched the US G4TV pretty often while I was overseas, and yes, mostly just the X-Play, and AOTS (Olivia Munn +1) and (Women of)/Ninja Warrior. some unbeatable banzuke but not as much.

Some people on xbox live gold are friendly. But mostly, it's shocking and depressing to witness how many ignorant and dangerous humanoid animals share the air we breath and the streets we drive on.

I wish Microsoft would somehow cordon off places for relaxed adult gamers who want to have fun.... and keep out the gang-bangers and felons.

Agreed 100%, I'm the first to admit I'm an older gamer, and would love to find some of the games where teens weren't running around screaming at everyone (I just don't get it)
