A flood of GTAIV reviews incoming

Get ready fanboys, because today at around 12 noon eastern time the Grand Theft Auto IV review embargo will be lifted as numerous gaming sites publish their official reviews of GTAIV. Not that we don't already know that the game will kick a bunch of bum. As of this posting, GTAIV is sitting a solid 100 average on metacritic after four reviews from sites like IGN and OXM UK, so it'll be interesting to see how the average moves as the day goes on. Keep your eye on the GTAIV metacritic site, put on your reading glasses and get comfy, because a wall of review text is coming. The other option is to visually take in GTAIV by Googling your way to some leaked GTAIV gameplay videos. That's always fun ...

Ps3 fanboys are having a feild day right now.Supposibly no pop in in the ps3 version of this title.The reason being the ps3 uses a hdd install and the 360 doesnt.

hmm

wasted gb's to avoid popins vs all my hdd space ill take the hdd space and dlc anyday.

i agree. but i hate the fact that ps3 lets me use any hdd not just the retarded $170 120 GB ones. Come on Microsoft! i payed 200 for a 500 GB external one a month back. drop the prices already!

Take 2 is working overtime getting these gameplay videos removed from every site, so good luck on the Googlin'. I don't know why they are even bothering, it's not like these vids are going to do anything but increase the likelihood of someone buying it the first day. Lame. I'm not getting it at a midnight launch, but the gameplay videos did convince me to buy the game, where the lame 'official' videos of cutscenes did not.

I'm a Nintendo fan, and I've pushed Mario Kart back for GTA... just for a few days, but that says something I think. This game looks and sounds amazing.

Obviously. Part of the reason video games are doing so well recently is because big retailers are afraid of this whole pre-order craze and they all overstock hoping to steal some customers from the game stores.

Not true. I didn't have a PS2, and I never got the Xbox version of the old GTA games. Thus my knowledge of the franchise was pretty limited.

After reading reviews, in particular seeing the Gametrailers video review, I am now totally psyched about this game and will be getting it on release day.

I am the third category! :P

All you people waiting an extra hour or two making Take 2 freak out cause it "might" not sell out as fast as they were thinking, just PRAY that someone doesn't go in and end up buying the last few copies that wasn't reserved while you guys were on your boycott! I'm one of those people who didn't reserve it and just going to chance it by going to Best Buy when they open and hope there's some extra copies left.

OXM lost credibility when they changed there ranking system right before the 360 came out. They used to have a real good system for there reviews. Now there reviews are not even worth reading.

So, what's the probability on XBL crashing on monday night? I'm putting 75-80% for multi-player failure.

Not that i was planning to do multi-player until a couple hours into the solo game.

I don't think XBL will crash and my reasoning is because I think overall people are more interested in the single-player aspect of GTAIV... at least for starters. I know I am and from what I can tell, most others are as well. They aren't jumping right in to the multiplayer.

We will have to see and who knows, but my bet is on XBL not crashing just because most will be breaking out the single player.

hey guys! jus wanted to lay some interesting facts out for you...

PS3 version has a mandatory install (less than 10mins), but the load times are almost non existent.

360 frequently has 30 second load times.

As for pop-in, it's supposed to be significantly less on PS3, same with framerate dips, less on PS3.

IGN: "For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch."

"Is no Slouch".. is just not as good as the PS3 version.

DLC? Do you really think THE game of the year GTA IV needs any more content??? Its the best thing to come in 10 years (source IGN). Its groundbreaking advancements in gaming. I really doubt it was woth 55,000,000 (might be a LOT more, not sure) that m$ dished out to pay to try to get more people to favor the 360 version, but in the end, what do you think people will want more? An awesome looking game with less hick-ups and no load times or the watered down version with half-@$$3d, paid for "unknown episodic content" which makes you wish you had a PS3 to play it on?

You are using your hdd which means taking up yet more space.The load times are no where near 30 seconds try 10 at most.My friend has the pirate copy i have played it.

The so called pop ins are really non exzistant unless looked for.I would rather have better richer colors than sharper textures.

The DLC will be huge and as rockstar stated the 360 is the "COMPLETE" version.

The fact that the 360 offer in game custom audio is major for a game like this and with live it kills the psn online all over.

the ps3 version without the dlc is garbage period.

Do you really have it filled up with so much useless crap that you cant afford to download a **7 min 30 seconds** worth of space in order to make your game load times none existant? IDK bout you, but I think most people would be more than willing to spend that 7:30 seconds to download it ONCE in order to not waste their time waiting every day for it to load.
