In a not-too-surprising move this week, Microsoft announced
via Major Nelson that the Live Arcade wouldn't be seeing any releases this week. The last month or so of XBLA titles have had their release dates leaked or rumored beforehand, and as we'd heard nothing this week, the news of zero releases isn't all that surprising. Besides, the most likely release would have been
Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm. And in the words of Major Nelson, "My guess is most people will be busy with
another game this week."

I'll be honest; the Iron Man demo is a kick and I can't wait to rent the final retail version next weekend. Might buy it used at like $20...in a few months.

Exactly. Who gives a crap about XBLA this week? Smart move not releasing any games.

What the Major should be telling us is they've gone the extra mile to assure no outtages this week while we're all busy playing Iron Man and the Mr. Driller demo.

It would have been cool if they had announced a port of one of the original top down GTA games.
Cool, but no one would have bought it. They should have done that last week or two weeks ago.

I was hoping for the same thing. I figured MS would surprise us with a $5 version.

I guess Major Nelson assumes all those parents out there will be getting GTA IV for their whiney kids. Way to go Nelly!
