Because one just isn't enough, this month Microsoft has crowned four bands, yes four different bands May's
Artist(s) of the Month. Freakin' epic! As part of their honor, each band has a little blurb over on Xbox.com and video content goodness on the (U.S. only) Xbox Live Marketplace. Anyway, we should just tell you who the four Artist(s) of the Month are shouldn't we? We're such teases. Ahem, we proudly present to you May's artists which include
Voltio,
Tyga,
Death Cab for Cutie and
Dierks Bentley. And, sadly, we only have ever heard of Dierks Bentley.

Wait, I've heard of Death Cab...
bigmac375 @ May 12th 2008 5:07PM
they're the only one i know this time.
they're actually pretty good
Shafnitz @ May 12th 2008 1:45PM
At least Xav knows Death Cab... I'm disappointed in Dustin...
Dustin Burg @ May 12th 2008 3:08PM
lol, I am shamefaced :(
Etchasketchist @ May 12th 2008 1:47PM
I saw Death Cab at Coachella this year. They seemed solid but unnecessary. Like they were a really great band 5 years ago.
AoE @ May 12th 2008 6:36PM
Eh, they were about the same 5 years ago too...
Britton @ May 12th 2008 1:48PM
Not knowing Death Cab but knowing some lame country star is kind of embarrassing...but to each his own.
And just a heads up: DCFC's latest attempt is so incredibly slow and predictable. Beautifully produced and gorgeous in sound but just too same-y and lounge-y to make a difference in one's library. So care with risk!
Captain Obvious @ May 12th 2008 2:04PM
Yeah, because Death Cab has so much credability after appearing on the OC...
Boogey131 @ May 12th 2008 2:22PM
To Captain Obvious:
Surely a bands credibility as musicians does not lie on which hit tv shows their music is allowed to be used in? Plans was a nice chilled effort, but not my taste. Transatlanticism is a fine album all the way through and their next album sounds interesting from the little I've heard of it.
DCFC are not one of my favourite bands, but one I listen to quite frequently. As a music-lover, I couldn't care less if Pink Floyd or The Beatles were used in One Tree Hill next week, the music stands on its own.
Britton @ May 12th 2008 2:22PM
Hahahaha, you're kidding, right? Sorry you're so unaware of anything going on around you, but they're a bit bigger than their OC "debut". Ever heard of websites/magazines like Pitchfork, Stereogum, Spin, or PASTE (just to name the blatant giants)? No? Even if you're not culturally aware (Oh wait, you have to be 'cause you're always up-to-date with the latest OC news!) you should recognize their overplayed singles on the likes of MTV and VH1. But hey, I'm glad you know enough about music to have such insight to correct me.
Get back to your precious weekly top 40's, Captain.
Tony @ May 12th 2008 2:05PM
Personally I'm so tired of Gibbard's voice between DCFC and his seemingly endless side projects that I can't even bring myself to listen to anything he does... regardless of how great or bad it might be.
Joebobobobo @ May 12th 2008 2:07PM
Give Death Cab's new album a listen, and you'll probably be kicking yourself for not knowing who they are (or any of their albums, in my opinion). Out of the four, they're the only one that I'VE heard of.
Lewis @ May 12th 2008 2:18PM
Death cab = FTW.
Check em out, Dustin
kyle @ May 12th 2008 2:55PM
ive heard of the last 2, the rest r unknowns, but i still dont like either of the ones i kno
cranium @ May 12th 2008 2:57PM
the killers debuted on OC. so what?
Edog @ May 12th 2008 3:16PM
I'm not a well rounded music listener. I almost exclusively listen to EBM (electronic body music) old and new. Very few bands can tear me away from my eletronica. Death Cab and The Postal Service are on my list though, they're both sublime and tempered. Tight.
rockeranimefreak @ May 12th 2008 8:20PM
DCFC FTW! =) I still waitin' on the postal service's second album(if it ever comes to existence)
Grimm @ May 12th 2008 8:45PM
These are some shitty "Artists of the Month". I mean I've heard Death Cab and I think Tyga is a rapper. What the fuck is that other shit though lol.
Flakundenga @ May 12th 2008 10:02PM
only one i know is VOLTIO - "Chulin, Chulin, Chunfly"
luv it!!!! LATINOS STAND UP!!!!!!!!!! w00t!!!!!!!!!!!
erick @ May 13th 2008 5:31PM
Haha, I hear you bro.
This is like that one month where they had Wisin Y Yandel and everyone was like
"Who the hell are these people?"
Haha, no but seriously, Voltio is a great reggaeton artist and I am glad Microsoft is making a greater hit to its latin customers.
