Velvet Assassin sneaks onto Xbox 360 this fall
Coming this fall from Replay Studios and the wacky folks at Gamecock is Velvet Assassin. Taking place behind enemy lines in World War II, Velvet Assassin tells the story of Violette Summer who is tasked with facing off against the vicious German war machine.Inspired by real life British secret agent Violette Szabo, the stealth-action game promises a unique combat experience when it hits the Xbox 360 and PC.
Clearly stealth games require a unique combat experience. Right?

Aww.. Why change the last name? Szabo sounds pretty bad ass.

Probably so they could take a lot of creative license and make a game with ninja moves and parcour and lots of killing and shit like that. Not to mention who wants to play a game that ends with you getting repeatedly beaten/rapped before ultimately ending up in a concentration camp where you're executed? Not much of a sequel in THAT ending...

parkour
StevenRafael @ May 14th 2008 8:19PM
True, but a game fitting your last description may not be so bad either.
The story would be emotionally charged and compelling.
xenocidic @ May 13th 2008 7:17PM
What was the source of this story?
Xav de Matos @ May 13th 2008 7:19PM
This was via a press release sent to us by Gamecock. Added that to the end in case anyone else wonders.
xenocidic @ May 13th 2008 7:33PM
Is it available on their website or anything like that?
(I'm not questioning the validity of the story or anything, I just want citeable proof this game isn't coming to PS3, for Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Velvet_Assassin)
Xav de Matos @ May 13th 2008 7:40PM
It doesn't look like it.
The press release only confirms an Xbox 360 and Windows-based PC version.
Looks like no PS3 version is planned.
Jeff Tronti @ May 13th 2008 7:36PM
Do we have to get tortured and raped in the end of the game.
ps I am sorry. Uncalled for I know.
Xav de Matos @ May 13th 2008 7:41PM
I shake my head at you sir.
Grimm @ May 13th 2008 8:18PM
Just so everyone knows...Gamecock = best name ever. I can't even begin with the funny here...
crock @ May 13th 2008 8:34PM
Who cares about her name. Since this is a stealth game in 3rd person I think we'll get to see plenty of her assets if you know what i mean. *snicker*
mattclarkie @ May 14th 2008 4:53AM
I am definately getting me a copy now. Maybe I should get the PC version so I can take screen gabs.
Jack @ May 13th 2008 10:00PM

I am intrigued by this, I think it has some cool potential!
Boff @ May 14th 2008 4:55AM
Good arse.
andyface @ May 14th 2008 5:00AM
The fact that it's based on a british secret agent from the WWII era, does that mean it'll have a really badly done, over the top "British" accent done by an America?
I sincerely hope not, or my speakers will be off if I decide to get this game.
Boff @ May 14th 2008 9:48AM
"Good morning old chap! I say, you haven't seen any ruddy Germans about the place have you old boy?"
"Absolutely spiffing! Well must dash. Toodle pip!"
andyface @ May 14th 2008 9:51AM
indeed. These yank fellows just don't understand the finer points of proper English and all that. They make us out be a bunch of blithering idiots with funny accents.
mattclarkie @ May 14th 2008 11:23AM

andyface @ May 14th 2008 11:34AM

Boff @ May 14th 2008 11:53AM
Ha ha Boris!!!! I've only got to hear his name and I'm smiling! The bumbling, blithering, lump of a man!! He's great!
He should be our ambassador to the world! Seriously.
