Joystiq talks to Itagaki about Ninja Gaiden II
Sitting down with Team Ninja head (and snappy dresser) Tomonobu Itagaki, Joystiq (along with some people who aren't from Joystiq) got to dig up some info regarding Ninja Gaiden II. For example, gamers looking for something a little easier than the first game are in luck. While the Ninja Dog mode found in Ninja Gaiden Black essentially went out of its way to make fun of lesser players for choosing an easier difficulty, Ninja Gaiden II's Path of the Acolyte mode will do no such thing. Not that we had to worry about that. No, that fact is much more important for certain Joystiq bloggers (who shall remain nameless). Head over to Joystiq for the full interview.

If he shoved all his hair in his face, he could pass for a double of Alison Mosshart.

I didn't know Yoko Ono made video games!

Ok, it's probably just me, but is there anyone else that is as fed up with this guy as I am? Ninja Gaiden looks "kinda" cool, but honestly it seems like another Devil May Cry game. Please prove me wrong, but it doesn't seem like something to get all sweaty about. And this guy is a joke. He dresses like he just got back from an 80's music video.

1. Ninja Gaiden was out way before DMC
2. DMC went downhill fast... 3 was the second best one along with 1. 2 sucked, and 4 was... meh.
3. Ninja Gaiden 2's gameplay is fast... like... really, REALLY fast. It almost seems like DMC is trying too hard nowadays.
4. Ninja Gaiden is considered to be one of the most difficult games ever created. People compare games' difficulties that have nothing to do with NG, to NG.
5. Ninja Gaiden 2 has been said that it almost never has any flinches in the combat system. DMC was very slow compared to something like this.

So, when you want to say it looks like another Devil May Cry game, you should say more along the lines of... Devil May Cry looks like another Ninja Gaiden game, considering this came out on the NES.

Sorry to step on your fanboy toes there, I don't give a crap which one was first. I love Ninja Gaiden back in the day, are you kidding?? This is not the Ninja Gaiden that it used to be, so yes, it now resembles Devil May Cry. The franchise might've been out before DMC, but there's nothing groundbreaking about this newest iteration, and it is using the same formula that DMC uses.
My biggest gripe is whenever they interview this guy, his B.S. meter goes through the roof, talking about how this will be the best game EVAR. I'm just not buying it that's all. :)

Actually... Ninja Gaiden 1 for the XBOX I believe was released before Devil May Cry 1 =P... and I'm not a fanboy... I like um both.
2. If you've ever played any ninja gaiden (not the old old ones) you would know that this game is far superior to DMC... Every person I have talked to has agreed that NG>DMC...
Ninja Gaiden isn't just a hack and slash game either like DMC... you actually have to time attacks and block .
This game also offers a lot more customization than any DMC game out there.
I do agree though that this guy overexaggerated his comments, but all in all... this is def. gonna make DMC look like a child's toy.
Also, Ninja Gaiden 2 uses a completely new engine new to any action game of the sort.
Ninjakamster (PSN: Chin-Poh) @ May 14th 2008 7:12PM
Ninja Gaiden has been out way before Devil May Cry, but the Ninja Gaiden 3D game came out considerably after Devil May Cry, before Ninja Gaiden was 2D.
Etchasketchist @ May 14th 2008 7:13PM
Wow. That's a really big gripe. Do you have to carry that gripe around with you all the time or do you have like a special wheel barrow for it?
Arnon @ May 14th 2008 7:11PM
Not only that, but this game offers about 15 different weapons and 4 different Ninjutsu
Arnon @ May 14th 2008 7:14PM
Rofl, gripe... nah... I've just known the series very well, and i've already seen most of the game's additions/gameplay/etc.
PerfectStrategy @ May 14th 2008 7:29PM
Haha, there always has to be some Devil May Cry fanboys.
DMC is a decent game, and I respect it, but quite honestly, Ninja Gaiden puts it to shame.
Arnon @ May 14th 2008 8:37PM
I couldn't agree with you more =P
MattDark @ May 15th 2008 1:56AM
True, while DMC is good (Though not as good in its PS3 iteration)
NG takes the formula to a new level, with more weapons, bigger combos and tougher gameplay.
Haohmaru @ May 14th 2008 9:01PM
Hey, it's Joey Ramone. Can't wait to play his game.
