Video: Birds sing and swords swing in Fable 2
Cleaning up after a long day of Spring Showcase coverage, we discovered a short yet sweet Fable 2 video burried under a box of Twinkies. A Twinkie fate that was brought upon the video due to yesterday's news madness. So, being the good bloggers we believe ourselves to be, we embedded the latest Fable 2 footage above for your viewing enjoyment and finished off the box of Twinkies for good measure. Like we said, it's a short vid, but it does a pretty solid job at showcasing some of Fable 2's enivornents, natural sites and concludes with an unlucky chap getting knocked into a well. It's priceless!

With the exception of knocking a bad guy down a well, this was a horrible trailer for Fable 2.

To me? Looks kind of slow and clunky.

I don't know why people didn't like this trailer.

What a crappy trailer of such an awesome looking game. Can't wait for this. Damn this winter is going to be just as packed as last winter. What the hell?

This game looks absolutely lush... The gameplay looks easy to master, yet hard at the same time. Gonna be a top seller on my list.

I just read this on the Developer's Blog for Fable 2 on the Lionhead Studios website:Last night, after a long day at the Showcase Event, we found out that Kotaku had posted a video showing Fable 2. This is not a trailer and it was never intended to be released in its entirity on the internet. Kotaku has dissapointed me, yes Mike and Brian you have. Sadly enough, it did happen and the snowball effect (other sites doing what Kotaku did) was inevitable at that point. The video was intended for broadcast media to edit into filmed interviews with Peter Molyneux. It was clearly marked as such on the Microsoft PR ftp.Let me make this clear: we decided to be honest with everyone, to show Fable 2 as it is right now, including the 5000 bugs that are currently being fixed by the development team. The press have reacted positively to our decision to show our game warts and all. To then see this video being released with the comments from editors (like Mike) and readers ranging from downright negative to so-so, is rather dissapointing and totally out of context. Please understand that it represents work in progress and see it for what it is: how the game looked on 7th May 2008. We promise to release a real trailer in due course. It will be interesting to compare them...

Looks great to me... not sure why everyone is so negative.
Fable 2, for me atleast, is a must-buy. I enjoyed Fable immensely, despite all the hype that ruined it for many. I was even one of those sad fools that used the dig glitch to get past the fences and unmarked Demon Doors and roam around in the unfinished world, trying to find the dragon and his castle. I loved that game, even got one of my guys to be fully maxed out but still only 17 (or 18, or 19, whatever the minimum age for that glitch was). Though I was too burned out from that game to play The Lost Chapters. But whatever, Fable 2 is looking like it's going to be a lot better than the first, so I'm confident it won't disappoint me.
