New grisly video and images of Silent Hill: Homecoming
Okay, with this fresh media form The Collective's take on Silent Hill (subtitled Homecoming), our fears are somewhat allayed. Given that the new Silent Hill is being developed by an American team outside of Konami, we were initially skeptical. The new images and (finally!) video have made us feel just a little bit better. First of all, the new score by longtime series composer Akira Yamaoka is in full effect and sets the mood nicely. Second, the game actually looks pretty good with combat in particular looking to be improved over previous iterations. But enough blather, check it out for yourself. Find three new videos embedded after the break.

The spring of 2008 keeps gamers up late at night, delving into the rabbit hole of GTA IV, and ranking up within COD4. This fall however, gamers will be kept up late at night from nightmares fueled by visits to Silent Hill.
I can't wait!
(On the record, let me just say the ONLY way to play a Silent Hill game is after midnight, without lights on, and with your surround system pumped. If you actually get nightmares...the game did it's job..)

This game better not be coming out until mid to late 2009 because it looks like utter shit in these videos...
InvisiMan @ May 16th 2008 7:40PM
I agree... where's the magic to this game? It looks like a rental at best.

Don't forget that a month later comes Dead Space. it's about damn time we get some good horror games going! W00+

Are you fucking kidding me...your telling me that this game looks like Silent Hill to you...granted they are using some different game play mechanics but this does not look like a silent hill game...it looks nothing more then a knock off...
The Collective should have never been given the right to make this game...

There's a nice selection of glitches in those videos, now I'm not a game producer, but surely releasing videos showing glitches is not a good idea.

Yikes...these videos look like they should be out of the Playstation 2 version of Silent Hill 2. Apparently the series is now content to wallow in mediocrity. Where's the next-gen love? Not to mention the graphical glitches and even grammatical errors "You get 'a' odd stone plate"? I hope this game gets a serious makeover before release, or gets shelved altogether. I want to see the janitor from the Silent Hill movie, not more dogs!

So am I the only one who things this game looks good? I mean, it looks like they crammed all of the traditional Silent Hill staples in there, and the new additions (improved combat, climbing, etc) look like they add to the quality overall.
Of course, the flying woman at the end of the first video and the "you got a odd stone plate" are annoying, but keep in mind that this is still a beta build of the game, and that there is no game without some grammatical errors (play Silent Hill 2, people). These two things, specifically, are sure to be regarded now that they've been shown in a public environment, I'm sure they're getting a lot of feedback about them.

@Mr. Scolex : no your not , everyone have been kissing Halo/CoD/GTA's ass way too much to notice how beautiful this game is, the graphic looks like CGI for the love of god! go check out the screens, they show the hospital area and man...it looks amazing! screw all the halo fags this game is a masterpiece being born and non of you shit-heads deserve it, if this was a PS3 or a PC exclusive you would be all over it crying and ranting on how the dev is kicking the fans in the teeth's bla bla bla but when this game is on 360 you start to bash it even though Ninja Gaiden 2 looks like pure shit compared to this game.
