The folks over at
Gamecenteronline posted a pair of new
Halo Wars screenshots (they claim three, but one we've seen previous) featuring a nighttime banshee battle and some Scarab-tastic destruction. The only problem is that the screenshots are super tiny little with no high res source in sight. So, enjoy what you can see in the two new screens. Also, if you haven't already done so today, send a prayer to the release date gods that Ensemble can get their
Halo RTS out the door sometime in 2008. Its
non-appearance at the
Spring Showcase has us a bit worried.

F-
I cannot believe someone could butcher the english language with such ignorance. Next time, try a little harder.
BowserUSC @ May 19th 2008 6:51PM
Agreed Brandon, that was awful.
Mike-453 @ May 19th 2008 11:32AM
C&C3 is perfectly playable on 360 for me......
But i've never been a hardcore RTS fan so probably don;t care if it's a little more sluggish.
joey @ May 19th 2008 11:33AM
Playing RTS with a controller is about as fun as typing with a controller.
James @ May 19th 2008 11:43AM
There is seriously no reason they can't include a mouse + keyboard control scheme.
Related: a post on PS3FB had a bunch of commenters saying that Red Alert 3 is going to support PC-style controls, on the PS3 at least -- I sincerely hope it's true.
joey @ May 19th 2008 12:05PM
If they both have the same control scheme, what's going to differentiate the PC games and console games?
Not that I don't wish it to happen, but only for RTS. Mouse really makes shooters into "point and click adventure".

Well a PC is a freaking PC and a console is a FRAGGIN console! If you use a gamepad on your PC does it turn it into a console???? NO! This statement is so lame and holds no water and I for one am sick of hearing it. Don't they know how many more RTS games they could sell if a mouse and keyboard was a standard with consoles? They are peripherals just like a gamepad, steering wheel or whatever. If it makes a game more enjoyable well hell isn't that the point????

The scarab in this articles picture doesn't even look like the one from Halo 3 (different color, shape, and all). Honestly who's excited for this game? I bet Halo Wars is going to be as crappy of an RTS as the new Red Alert being made by EA is going to be. This better be the only Halo game they're making in a while because they're starting to dilute the Halo brand
Mike-453 @ May 19th 2008 1:26PM
With four games? In what, like......7 or 8 years?
Seriously, how is releasing out four games in the span of seven/eight years (depending on release of halo wars) in anyway 'diluting' the series?
At least you got one thing right, your username. Now THAT's diluting a brand.
Nintendo is Fail @ May 19th 2008 1:46PM
Well first of all this games not even being developed by Bungie. And you know they're starting to use overuse a brand once they start making different genres but just slap the "Halo" name on everything. For example look at Nintendo, they have Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc. I wouldn't like to see Halo go that way. And I never said there was anything wrong Halo 1, 2, and 3 because those are the games Halo should be.
And i've only heard rumors about this so it's probably nonsense but if they're already working on another Halo (Halo 4) for Xbox 360 then I think they're releasing another one way too early. The next Halo that comes out (if any) should be on the next Xbox

"The scarab in this articles picture doesn't even look like the one from Halo 3"
it's a prequel to H3. it doesn't have to retain the same look. :D

So what, how many RTS games has bungie done?
So it stands to reason that maybe someone else could do a good RTS. Halo3 was and is a great game and sold extremely well, so if I get more of it then that will be great. I don't think that 2 sequels on the same console is uncommon I welcome Halo4 and if the timing for it is with the next XBOX then so be it but don't wait on new hardware to make another game.
Arnob @ May 19th 2008 2:12PM
halo kart? halo party? i'm there!
Frosty22 @ May 19th 2008 3:29PM
So many naysayers. I am really looking forward to this game. The Halo universe is so big that an RTS seems like a perfect compliment to it. If you aren't looking forward to it, then fine, but don't predict its demise under the pretext that everybody in the world has the same opinions, likes and dislikes as you do.
Johnny @ May 19th 2008 1:44PM
Game is not releasing till next spring. Controls are fairly simplified to ease console usage. I'll get it at some point for sure, those Ensemble boys are skilled!
Vladimer @ May 19th 2008 1:57PM
Not impressed, specially when star craft 2 is on its way, plus it sucks to play strategy controller, how come xbox has not mouse and keyboard support?
Trekster_Gamer @ May 19th 2008 2:14PM
I am impressed and I think this game will be really fun, but I have to agree and give the edge to Starcraft II, I will playing this on the PC!
