Gears 2 flamethrower, other weapons spotted in scans
Hey, it's just after 2 PM EST so it's time for another obligatory Gears of War 2 news post. One of our X3F Soldiers tipped us off to scans of a recent article that showcased the new weapons and enemies in Gears 2. Since the other weapons spotted in the scans had been seen in the recent Assault gameplay video, we thought it would be a good time to introduce you to the flamethrower.
This no nonsense inferno-spitting handheld burns red hot and promises to cook a steak in 9 seconds flat, and we don't mean a filet mignon or nothing--we're talking a "half the cow is on your plate, why is my belt still on?" man-steak. We can't even imagine what the execution will be for the flamethrower, but we're sure Epic has something brutal up their sleeve. Hell, as long as Marcus sprinkles some salt and pepper on a dude's charred face afterwards, we're cool with whatever. More scans available at Recenzeher.

Wait, did you not notice the guy holding the flamethrower(which looks badass by the way)? I don't recognize him, is he new?

There are two possibilities. One, he is a new character or two it is a custom character from multiplayer.
Customized characters? Maybe!

Well i forgot to look at the other scans at Recenzeher before i posted that. The last photo (page 4) says "New Faces" or something. Four new characters from the storyline i suppose.

Sadly, its not a customized character...I wish though.
That's the new character named Tai Kaliso.

As soon as I saw that scan I thought 'Crackdown'! Then I realised I was reading an article on Gears2!

That looks sick! This just proves how epic will always push technology to the limits. As long as it doesn't end up like Halo 3's flamethrower. That was just a let down. Well the whole game was a let down to be honest with you. Can't wait for gears2 to come out. Until then I'll be playing Gears1.

If I'm not mistaken that's "Tai" or "Tao" the spiritual all tattooed up guy. Who was featured as one of the new characters in last months Game Informer. BTW, yes, that flamethrower looks sick!

1. Do you not enjoy your PS3's games? Do you use it for Internet Browser and Blu-Ray more? Seems like it.
2. Are you this jealous that you stay in xbox360 Fanboy instead of PS3 Fanboy? Looks to be true.
3. Do you realize most of the trolls on the internet are looked at as some of the lowest people? Do you realize you're a troll? I guess not.
4. Do you realize the fact that if an admin. came on here and repeatedly saw you trolling/flaming every message board, you could be banned? Guess not.

On a serious note, you're a tool of epic proportions Mr. Balance. You gloat about the PS3 being "Teh awesomeness" (which I agree, the PS3 is defiantly not a bad system). However, you spend your time trolling X3F instead of playing your PS3 just because the people here prefer another console. You also seem to fail that no one at all gives a flying f*ck what you think, which adds to the hilarity of your posts. I haven't been an active poster on this site for very long, but I can tell most the people here are true gamers. You know the kind of people that like a game for the game itself, and not the logo of the publisher or system. Being a fan of a particular console of fine, but your asinine attempts to mock the 360 and its fans are pitiful and fail so hard we might as well refer to you as EFG from now on…

The flamethrower is tits, but that guy looks like a friggin goofnut. I hate the design on all the new guys that was shown in Game Informer. They look too cliche ... a cowboy and a tatooed moron. Oh boy.
I still have a boner for this game the size of a VW bus though. Crappy character designs won't cease the throbbing one bit.

I agree with you that this character is far from inspiring, but then again who cares, quite frankly if the biggest problem I have with a game is the look of a character model then Im a happy man. On the topic I think that the flamethrower will add a lot to the multiplayer in GOW2, I personally got more sick of people complaining about host shot gun advantage thaan I ever was about it being present in the first pace in the original, hopefully this weapon will help with that. It'll be like 'hell yeah you blasted me with the shotgun but your ass is ON FIRE!!!!'

I hope that the flames look like a real flamethrower. i want it to look identical to the flamethrowers you see in old World War II footage. The real thing looks so much more badass than it does in Halo 3. And did anyone spot the "Hammerhead" with the Boomshot?
