Japanese XBLM to get NG2 demo on 5/30

After the demo news disappeared from the game's official site, many of us were worried that there would be no Ninja Gaiden 2 demo at all. Fortunately the demo does exist, and it should be online shortly. In Japan. Only.

Now we know that the 360 is no big success in the East, so why not just release the demo everywhere at once? No one knows. Posting on NeoGAF, Chris Paladino (Hi Chris!) of Gamerscore blog confirmed that the demo would be hitting in Japan, and that there would be a demo release in the other territories "soon". Whether the demo would have helped sales of the game pre-launch or not is going to be a moot point soon. Microsoft better get it online!

at first it's been up on xbox.com for months saying "try the demo in may" then Itagaki says it's in june:

Viva La Champ is correct. You can register an xbox live silver account via xbox.com and make up a fake japanese address. Log in and you should be able to download demos as part of the silver service. I used it to download the Tenchu demo when it came out.

I wouldn't even bother people, this demo is probably region locked like lots of the demos.

I don't understand this crap, why so freaking vague on a demo date for other regions? I hate PR people, but more importantly, I hate companies that feel the need to pull people's chain more.

You know...I had resigned myself to the fact that this demo wasn't coming before launch, and I had largely forgiven Microsoft/Tecmo...but seeing that it's launching in Japan first when Japan has like....zero Xbox 360 gamers.....now I'm kinda pissed.

Hmm thats weird..
Im a japanese 360 fanboy, of course there aren't so many 360 owners in here..
So I have no idea why Tecmo decided to release the Demo on Japan first, makes no sense.
Maybe one love for japan from Itagaki..?
Anyway, we dont have the Demo atm yet.

uhhh... maybe cause the 360 is not doing so well in Japan so they figure the demo would be best for Japan first (to make the 360 appeal to them more)... The US already has a strong Ninja Gaiden fanbase, they know we are gonna support the game anyway... smh

They could launch at the exact same time. They are Microsoft for crying out loud. Their internets tubes are fat and bountiful.

There is no reason, unless the English audio and menu's just isn't done in the demo yet....or something...to release this thing in Japan only.

just so you know, the demo is now up and you can be downloaded with your free month of gold with any new account. If you used of all your free months, one of those free month fo live cards that come with games works in a pinch. I hear some little game called GTA4 shipped with one of those. Maybe some peopel picked it up.

For all of you who have a JP account, I noticed that you cannot DL the demo if you have a silver membership, however I did notice something interesting.

If you click on one of the NG2 ads you see throughout the blade sections, it will take you to a special promo page where you can make your way to a "demo" link. If you click on this link it'll take you to the NG2 demo download and I noticed it does not show a "Gold Only Membership" download restriction.

However I get an error code "Can't retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later."

Try to see if you can download the demo this way without the need for a gold membership. YMMV.
