The Last Remnant: New details and trailer [Update]
Update: An English language version of the trailer embedded above is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Originally touted as the first multiplatform, simultaneous multi-region release from developer Square Enix, The Last Remnant is now planned to release on the Xbox 360 first. At the recent Xbox 360 RPG event in Japan, Square Enix confirmed that The Last Remnant will release on the Xbox 360 in North America, Europe and Japan simultaneously with a PS3 version planned for a later date. Announced in 2007, the Unreal Engine 3 based role-playing game includes two playable characters; one aimed at Eastern audiences while the other was modeled to appeal more to Western audiences. No release date for the title has been confirmed as of yet, but it appears Microsoft has found itself some newfound love with the popular Japanese developer, Square Enix.

..as if these stupid xbox gamers are smart enough to play an RPG. all they know how to play are overrated shooters that have auto aim and broken gameplay. go ahead and enjoy ur "last remnant"... as for me i dont even want the FIRST REMNANT... because ill be playing metal gear solid 4 in just 2 days BITCH.
"metal gear 4 was better then halo and gears of war combined" - gametrailers.com
and theres this little gem called final fantasy 13 and versus 13 coming out... which are ps3 exclusives by the way... so ur RPG momentum fails.

Dude. It is way too early to be trolling.
Go express your opinion where people actually care, like the middle of a busy highway.

I always think it's funny when people refer to JRPG's as "RPG's". I mean, it's an RPG on rails. You don't really get to go where you want or level how you like - you follow a very linear and preset trail.
And then there are the cut scenes. Is it a movie or a game? We don't know!
Anyway, I'm not going to play any of these games, I'm just glad to see them coming to Xbox 360 for the fans that want them.

wow that's a lot of anger. understandable since the ps3 still only has enchant arms and oblivion for rpgs...

Wow...you seriously need to get laid man. If Sony losing an exclusive gets your panties in this big of twist then I'd hate to see what happens when something disappointing in life doesn't go your way. Relax...it's only a few games going to a different console. You act as if Bill Gates just bent your mom over and had his way with her.

lmao. That was hysterical to read this morning and I'm still laughing it over 4 hours later. "BITCH" lmfao
Um, you are of course, wrong. Just because PS3 has 2 games (FF) which are far away and aren't garaunteed to be good, it doesn't mean 360 isn't kicking Ps3's ass in JRPGs.
To be clear, it is completely kicking the PS3's ass in JRPGs. There's no conversation to be had.

This is the first JRPG for the 360 I've actually been interested in. I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one. It looks pretty good. I haven't played a JPRG in a very LONG time.

I am...speechless..another RPG (a JPRG this time) for the 360 this fall/winter? I can't believe it. There are so many coming out, I am beside myself with joy!
This is going to be so great!
Maverick Saturn @ Jun 10th 2008 12:19PM
Doesn't look too bad, I just can't understand why nearly every JRPG that Square makes has a Cloud or Tidus lookalike :S
Knight Marquise @ Jun 10th 2008 2:46PM
Incredible!
My jrpg sweet spot will certainly be scratched this fall.
