I'm estatic. My three favorite things in life: X3F, A7X, and Xbox...all in one serving? Thank you for curing a dreadful hangover with this joyful news.
Arnon @ Jun 13th 2008 4:16PM
A7X is mah fav. band~ >.>b
Gemini Ace @ Jun 13th 2008 3:54PM
Very cool! Hammerhead is the best Offspring song in a while and you can't go wrong with Avenged Sevenfold.
HazyCloud @ Jun 13th 2008 5:01PM
meh. Where's Nevermind?
Gary Harwell @ Jun 13th 2008 6:24PM
hahahahahaha Hazy, you make me laugh.
Derka @ Jun 13th 2008 3:58PM
Oh hell, theres goes my profit margin for the month, I have to get all of these.
Vcize @ Jun 13th 2008 3:59PM
OFFSPRING FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
But it's one of the lousy new songs.
And it's on Rock Band.
:\
But still, I'll take what I can get.
Vcize @ Jun 13th 2008 4:06PM
OK so "lousy" was too harsh, but compared to the old stuff...
Damnit, now I sound like one of those damn music snobs.
Stewart Bananas @ Jun 13th 2008 5:17PM
I'll agree with you that their old stuff is a lot better.
Having said that, I feel like Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, while taking them in a new direction, feels like it's getting back to their roots. "Trust In You" has a very mid-90s-Offspring feel too it, and "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" is just a fun song to listen to.
I'll get any Offspring I can on Rock Band. I've been hoping for some of their stuff for a long time so I'll take whatever.
Vcize @ Jun 13th 2008 5:49PM
Yeah, like I said I was being a little harsh. I actually really like about half the new album, and don't like the other half at all whereas with the older stuff the worst stuff was stuff that I just liked instead of loved.
Like you said, "Trust in You" could've been on Smash and it wouldn't have felt out of place at all. "Hammerhead" is just OK and doesn't seem like it will fit well with the fake guitar (too repetitive), if we were going to have to have a new song I think "Takes Me Nowhere" would've been an absolute blast to play.
Agree on "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" as well. Although they'd have to eliminate one of the main words in the lyrics to fit that one into Rock Band, heh.
Stewart Bananas @ Jun 13th 2008 8:59PM
I agree with you on "Takes Me Nowhere". It's definitely one of my favorites from the album. But like I said, I'll take pretty much anything Offspring :P
Dom @ Jun 13th 2008 4:07PM
Damn, they're really milking this thing aren't they. People wanna complain about a map pack that comes out maybe once or twice in a games lifecycle but look at this. To each his own. I just think they should've included a bigger library with the game.
Zac LaCombe @ Jun 13th 2008 4:22PM
Well, I mean it's not really milking it. They're just adding what players want to see in the game. It'd be milking it if they'd start coming out with games centered around one band containing mostly only their musi....Oh wait.
Neuromancer @ Jun 13th 2008 4:28PM
They're milking it but if it's milk people want so it's OK. Otherwise the cow would be slaughtered, for it's tender, juicy beef.
Vcize @ Jun 13th 2008 4:35PM
Great, now I'm hungry.
Thanks a lot.
DiddlyKong @ Jun 13th 2008 4:30PM
A7X is going to be hell for drummers on expert. How are we suppose to do tripelets on a plastic bass pedal?
zero2dash @ Jun 13th 2008 5:00PM
A7X but no Almost Easy?
Wow **major oversight** there on the song selection.
Gareth @ Jun 14th 2008 6:27PM
Not really, afterlife and critical acclaim are both better songs
CosmicNeurotica @ Jun 13th 2008 8:12PM
Hammerhead? What is that? I was hoping for Self Esteem!!
kazuya @ Jun 13th 2008 8:15PM
Offspring!
**Impulse buy**
I hope they get other songs in there too.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Jun 13th 2008 8:34PM
Whooooooooo care-s, who cares, who cares.
Seriously. Where is Who's Next already?
(And I am not buying that 'lost masters' bs either; yeah I'm talkin' to you Townshend.)
Arsonism @ Jun 14th 2008 10:44AM
I can't belive Crooked X is getting DLC. You have to admit they are pretty good for a bunch of 15 year olds from a small town in Oklahoma.
Flame @ Jun 14th 2008 1:18PM
i gonna love singing critical acclaim :D
awesome choice of songs this time!!!
Mike @ Jun 15th 2008 5:42PM
I want "Tool" DLC! For GH3 and RB!
Nick @ Jun 15th 2008 11:20PM
Gads, I WISH. I'm so not getting my hopes up for that.
And if it does come, I get the SINKING feeling it'll find its way to freakin jerk crap guitar hero which I don't and won't own.
I would die for Tool though. Sober? Aenima? Stinkfist?
I giggle in GLEE for any of them!
However I don't hold out hope.
I'd like to see some old Heart (again, probably specific only to GH) or such, that would be great, specifically for the wife to sing.
There's a ton of other stuff, I'm THRILLED they have NiN stuff. Playing The Perfect Drug? Gads, I nearly cried I was so happy :)
HalfAzn @ Jun 15th 2008 9:03PM
I'm getting Afterlife..not sure about the other ones tho.
