CVG recently
confirmed with EA producer
Jim Vessella that the stand alone Xbox 360 release of
Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath will not ship with the touted
Global Conquest mode. The decision to remove Global Conquest, a mode that has been quite popular among PC
Kane's Wrath gamers, was made after EA discovered that it wasn't a favorite among focus testers. "
We found that it was a bit more niche type of gameplay" Vessella told CVG, "the turn-based gameplay wasn't gelling as much with the 360 fan base."
But fear not fellow C&C fanboys, the 360 version of Kane's Wrath will still include the exclusive Kane's Challenge modes as well as exclusive Kane video content. And, of course, you can always look forward to unlocking more achievements!

Typical bullsh*t.
Allow me to provide the interpretation:
"We found that it was a bit more niche type of gameplay" Vessella told CVG, "the turn-based gameplay wasn't gelling as much with the 360 fan base.
Actually reads:
This is the most popular part of the game and we figured we could gouge the console gamer for as much money as we possibly can by providing this later as DLC.

Have to agree with you. Seems very likely thats the route they are going to take on it. "Due to popular demand we will be offering Global Conquest for the low price of 1200 pts.".
I really don't like EA.

This is pretty ridiculous, since when did internal testers represent the normal gamer? If its popular for PC it couldn't possibly be... you know popular for console players too. Oh wait!
Seems incredibly silly to me. They probably have about 30 internal testers and just because those 30 people find its "niche" must mean the thousands of gamers that could buy the game won't enjoy it.
Again, i'm glad i bought the PC version.

just wait for Red Alert 3 anyways
Okänd @ Jun 19th 2008 10:21AM
Global Conquest sucks anyway but it's still stupid of them to remove it.
emirabal @ Jun 19th 2008 10:39AM
never played it so wont make a difference to me

Are these people retarded? Cutting this out costs MORE time and resources and money. Wtf?
When did taking a mode out of a game that already existed and could easily be ignored by those who didn't like it make any sense? All this will do is annoy those looking forward to this feature in the 360 version as the people who would have hated it won't even notice this is gone. Now we are definitely getting a gimped port instead of an almost equal version. Does nobody learn from the success of COD 4 a game as good as possible on every single platform? Do 10 million copies sold not make EA think about how keeping modes in games could make THEM MONEY?
I'm pretty pissed off hear this. Time to cancel that pre-order.
Fuck you EA, maybe my wallet will bring your idiocy to heel.

Sorry, just wanted to add this, my apologies if there is an edit button I haven't seen:
Without Global conquest will we be able to play as the new GDI and Scrin factions outside of multiplayer? What is the point of all these new sub factions if we don't have any mode that encourages us to try them out an learn them? Nobody is going to take a new army out online and get abused by the old style spammers who know exactly what does what and aren't restricted in their options like those trying out new armies.
I mean seriously, they seem to be gutting the game! I want to play as more than NOD (even though they rule) and not being able to play as my favourite faction (GDI) in SP is very, very annoying.

Really stupid thing tho, even if it weren't looking to become the most popular feature on the 360 release, there's no reason to remove it. I'm sure there would be people enjoying it, and it's more or less finished on the PC, should be an easy task bringing it over.
Just everyones favorite company EA doing the DLC thing later on I guess, like you guys have already said. Basically, if the gamecover has an EA logo on it, I find myself not wanting to buy the game, even when the game itself is good. Quite rare scenario tho.

Well they lost me on this game, I wanted it for the Conquest Mode.
Heretic @ Jun 22nd 2008 4:13AM
I hoped they would've put the Global Conquest Mode into the 360 release, because I do not have a computer fast or powerful enough (yet, I mean, currently saving up for a new one) for the PC version in order to enjoy the full benefits of the original game.
I mean, specifically I was hoping to test that new mode out, since it interested me, but EA decided to screw the console players over... again. I hope they at least put it up for download. That mode looked so cool.
Kane's Challenge mode better be worth it...

One Vision One Purpose to fuck up games for console users, and charge thier asses later. EA making good shit bleak since the dawn of time.
