Video: How Dead Space does dismemberment

We must confess, after watching this latest Dead Space trailer our interest in the game has shot up a solid 17%. The reason? Simple. We're intrigued by how the game handles creature killing, all the interesting weapons and, most importantly, all that dismemberment action. You'll have to watch the trailer to get what we mean, but it should speak for itself. Seeing evil crawly monsters inch towards you without any legs is enjoyable and so is the gravity gun type telekinesis gun. Then, when you're done with the trailer, hit the break to view in-game Dead Space dismemberment carnage. Yum!

Wow. I really want to like this game, but from those videos it looks like the enemies are about as smart/tough as villains from an old episode of Power Rangers. If they make it more challenging before it releases I'd definitely buy it!

You're right. After watching that 2nd vid it seems like a pretty boring shooter with an eerie feel.

Good observation. The enemies do look a little weak and not very scary at all.

The game itself looks very pretty and the part where you are weightless looks like a great mechanic. It got me a little disoriented like Prey did.

Hope they work on the gameplay aspect and make me have to buy this game.

Looks like my wallet is going to be so so sore this holiday.

They made me verify my birthdate for alone in the dark but not for a video about dismemberment. Ok...

So this game is coming out around the same time as Gears of War 2? I somehow feel any interest I have in it now will have been all but dismembered by then! And surely this demo video is on the easiest AI setting, they just tand in front of you and yell 'RARRRRRRR' while you kill them.
