Rumor: Soulcalibur to hit XBLA next week
Clocking in at 800MS Points, Soulcalibur (XBLA) includes the standard HD upgrade and LIVE leaderboard support other retro revivals see but Namco Bandai has confirmed the title will not include online multiplayer support. While we still have fond memories of the 1999 Dreamcast release, we scratch our heads at the decision to opt out of the online versus upgrade. With Soul Calibur IV on the horizon we wonder, what's the point? Hopefully Namco Bandai will revisit the release and upgrade it with online support much like they did Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the PSN. But, we're not holding our breath.

Looks like another perfunctory port.
Why'd they even bother with the HD and leaderboards?
If you dig on Soul Caliber get IV. Why waste perfectly good ms points when another map pack/dlc is surely coming for ________ (insert name here)

Exactly, If there is no online versus mode, I will not buy, I will wait for SC4 instead.

I never played Soul Caliber and I'm curious. Don't be a...wait, nevermind.

I'll be picking this up, since it will let me finally pack away my Dreamcast and make a little more room. It'll give me Soul Calibur, Soul Calibur II through backward compatibility and, of course, Soul Calibur IV. I'm happy with that, even if it is the arcade version ported over rather than the DC version. I suspect I'm not alone in that. Of course, I prefer to do my gaming single player or with my girlfriend in the room so that has a lot to do with my lack of disappointment as well.

Without online play this is simply a no buy. I own this for my dreamcast already and if i really wanted to play local play with a friend, i'd just set it up.
They got much of the dreamcast version in the XBLA but as far as i remember some features have been cut. Another reason to skip buying this.

They can't throw online into this one... I mean if we had Soul Calibur with online play, who would really care about Soul Calibur 4: The Force Unleashed?
