Wow, looks like they really reinvented the wheel with that one!
How about developing a NEW GAME.
Pass!
Khayrhalt @ Jun 30th 2008 7:54PM
S'cuse, but "reinventing" a fighting game ? With what ? Cars and wheels ? Whip and Hat ? Or maybe some kind of fluffy animals ?
Bah, it's a fighting game with weapons, like all the Soulcalibur serie. I'll buy. And without any frustration.
And if you wanna have an old game, buy Soulcalibur on Xbox Live Arcade, and stop cying, please :)
Anticrawl @ Jun 30th 2008 9:12PM
Last time the fighting genre saw innovation people screamed and ran. Talking about that anime game with over the shoulder camera's, that DBZ one. Funny it takes an anime game to do things unique.
Mal F4cti0n @ Jun 30th 2008 10:25PM
Don't think anyone was crying there, babycakes, but thanks for telling me to 'buck up.'
Good advice on saving $50 and picking up the XBLA game. I am not even sure why they decided to do that. I am not buying this game on thesimexchange, that's for sure.
MattDark @ Jul 1st 2008 2:46AM
Well, someone sure is being an ass today.
Yeah, create a 'new game' how about telling that to just about every other games developer before saying it about a good one?
Mal F4cti0n @ Jul 1st 2008 6:16PM
MattDark,
Same story, same characters, same gameplay with prettier graphics on any game, bad or good, is just milking the consumer for money with very little investment on the developers part. I don't want none of that.
CoD4, Battlefield: Bad Company, Bioshock, Crackdown, GTA IV and even Halo 3 brought something new to the table with updated story, innovated gameplay, a new twist on an FPS, fully destructible environments, etc, etc. Those games will get my business. Buying a game that I played ten years or more ago on the Dreamcast with slightly better graphics will not get my business.
And no reason to call Khayrhalt and ass, he is entitled to his own opinion too.
Kisses, sugar!

Clearly you're not much of a fighting game player. Fighters aren't the kind of game you can understand the discrepancies of simply by watching a handful of trailers. SC3 looked very similar to 2 if you only watched videos, but it was a vastly different game because of the nuances of the characters and their move sets.
Mal F4cti0n @ Jul 1st 2008 10:03PM
Joop,
I hear ya, I guess if they have some cool new mechanic in the game (defense, counter-attack type thing), that could make it new and innovative.
I always thought a button mapped to each limp of the character would be work. X to block with the left arm, Y to counter-attack on a successful block. That would add lots of skill to the game.
Dwag @ Jul 1st 2008 12:46AM
Will this boost any of the 360 harware sales in JP they need to hit at least 1 million before the end of this year.
Seems like the PS3 owners are more excited about this game.
RockerAnimeFreak @ Jul 1st 2008 2:04AM
Its too damn shiney... much rather pick up the arcade game! I may buy Civilization on Bungie day because its pretty entertaining! :)
