Dead Space gets box'arted
You've gotta hand it to Electronic Arts. For all the flak they get in the industry they certainly try their hand at a ton of new IPs. OK, enough with the hand gag. Back on topic. Army of Two, Spore, Dead Space are a few new titles from the mega-publisher trying to shy away from being known as the annual release factory.As for Dead Space, the survival-horror space action-shooter, EA released an image of the box art a few days ago and boy is it grim. A severed hand floats in cold space searching for a body to call home. It makes sense when you think about it. The owner is probably dead and it is floating in space. Creative. Creepy, but creative.

I think that box art looks horrible, but if I saw it on the shelf, it would catch my eye. So job well done there add marketers/box art artist.
Since where on the subject, remember about 15 years ago where every game had this very detailed hand drawn art for the box cover? Some of those where just something awful, as they had nothing to do with the game half the time.

Nice boxart. I think this game looks awesome, I don't know why it's getting such a lukewarm reception. I like the artstyle and atmosphere, and the zero-gravity stuff looks great too.

i wish more m rated titles had box art like this.. parents should get a little preview of what theyre buying their kids.. ive heard enough preteens playing gears and cod4 to know theres lots of parents that dont pay attention at all..

that really is some terrible box art... americans always seem to get bad covers..hopefully they'll be a different one for europe, something abit more clever.

Box art seems like a subtle nod to 80s horror films. Now that was some "interesting" box art.
